Re: YODA'S RETURN TO DAGOBAH!! -see post #100 5-10-09

Like you'd sneak a high res pic off the set of ESB.:eek
Definitely! :thumbsup
If I didn't know you built it, I'd be asking where you found such an incredible behind the scenes shot!

It needs to be made into a poster!

Holy moly that's amazing! It looks just as amazing and accurate in outdoor light.

Bravo!

For me what sets this piece apart from ALL the others is that its such a brilliant tribute to the original Yoda - I have seen the original George has at LFL and this could be that very same Yoda.

I believe that the great Stuart Freeborn would approve of your interpretation. Your artistic skill is about the best there is and I offer my warmest congratulations!

Bravo!

STUNNING!!!!!

How did you do the armature/ skeleton of your YODA/ got pics of it?
It´s a great feature to have him fully poseable, which also brings him to life and makes his pictures "pop" (compared to pics of a static piece) :thumbsup

I´ve tried to build a skeleton with magnetic balljoints and while it worked for the articulation of the arms, the legs collapse due to their own weight plus the weight of my YODA-> he can´t stand by his own right now :unsure

Any advice from the master would be highly appreciated :)

AGAIN, STUNNING WORK!!!

WOW!

That's amazing, I skipped over it thinking it was a production shot then stopped to read a post and backed up.

Gino, i know you´re more of a nitpicker than anyone else here, even if some won´t admit this fact, but this time you´ve outdone yourself!
the more i look at those pictures you posted the more i even have to look more at your pictures... :rolleyes

GORGEOUS, simply gorgeous!

I can´t stop looking at these pictures.
Phil and Gino, seriously You kick some serious a$$ worldwide.

This is the best fan made piece I have ever seen. I think RPF should start an extra page called "The RPf Museum" or something like "Hall of skill"

Think about it, otherwise this amazing thread will just be forgotten in a few days.

What the hell can I say that this picture doesn't say all on its own? I know we all sound like drooling groupies in this thread, but I truly say this with all heartfelt sincerity...this is the first Star Wars related item to come along since my childhood in the 80s, that has made feel exactly what I felt then, as a wonder struck kid who ached to be able to play in that world, with those props, costumes, sets, etc. There was, and is, a reality, a very gritty, tangible quality to what we all saw that has endeared those films to us through the decades. It's a quality that I didn't think could be replicated, because, for over 25 years, it hasn't been...until this thread came along. It's amazing. In some ways, it's like seeing him for the first time all over again, and I'm asking the same damn question now that I did in 1980...."How'd they do that?" And, just like when I was eight years old, I dream about having one of my own.

Words of praise don't do the accomplishment justice. Just, thank you for sharing it with us.

Wow, thanks so much all of you!
Seriously, it's your reactions and posts that help push/motivate me to keep working on projects like this one.
I really wish I could show everyone this stuff in person. There's something about being able to interact, touch, and goof around with these things we make that just totally connects with the kid in us.

Jedi-72
What you said it your post about being able to experience their world, play around with their props, costumes, sets, etc.. I can so relate to as I'm sure most everyone here can as well.
The goal with all of my SW projects (outside of scoring some kind of gig with LFL :)) is to try to resurrect these old characters as close as possible to the way we remember them as we were growing up, warts and all.
When someone tells me that they think I've gotten pretty close, that's the best compliment I could ever ask for. Thanks man!

I absolutely second that. GINO, your dedication to detail is simply outstanding. Bravo!
