Yeah as I said it's my best guess that it is a short chain since the scene isn't so detailed but it's really our only look at his Yale key. But it works rather nicely. Look at you being all screen accurate without even trying
Funny thing here, I actually made it point the way I did on purpose, here's my personal resigning, my Baker is basically a "City of Death" style Fourth Doctor version his bullet tip is pointing the same side as the slot. So for Davison I decided, since they are the same prop just repainted in reality, I wanted it to look that way and had them face the same direction, which I know wasn't the case in reality but I liked it. Also made this choice because the main close up we see of the Davison prop was in "Four to Doomsday" and his bullet isn't on either side of the slot, it actually runs parallel with it. So this is one of those few times I took the idealization route. I prefer the bullet tip to be showing in my display vs the magnet side and I like to see the slotted side as well so it was the best of both worlds sort of thing.
