Y-Wing helmet showoff

Wanted to show off a Richie's Armor Y-Wing helmet I just finished painting.
There are some details missing either because I don't want them or I'm just not sure how to do them yet. So it's mostly a replica, but somewhat custom. Fun helmet kit to paint btw. :)

Wouldn't mind some input or suggestions.

I thought that was what either the B-wing, or A-wing guys got saddled with during Return Of The Jedi. I might have to re-watch that tonight while I'm working.

I'm in the process of building up one of these also. I am still only between coats of primer.
I was thinking of making each lock tab for the sides from simple strips of styrene. Heat it gently (lighter, candle or oven) and bend one end. The black lock buttons on either side could be made in many ways. It looks like they are simple rectangles.

For the cross on the fan knob, my idea is to use a hole-punch on a sheet of that kind of thin flimsy plastic that is used with overhead projectors and then gluing that to the knob. Only after that would I trim the edges. Then a couple layers of primer to seal the gaps.

I am planning to use a black marker for the black details above the visor. Most black markers have gloss ink, but I got one with flat black ink from an artists store.
First mask off the edges with curvy masking tape and then the ends with straight masking tape. Then only the curved ends would have to be done freehand.

I am still a novice when it comes to painting helmets. You have done much better work than I could. Thankfully, I am not replicating any specific character's helmet.

Nope, Y-Wing helmets were like this...

B-Wing helmets were like this, though I don't think we ever see a good closeup in the movie...

Don't have a picture of an A-Wing helmet, but it's kind of a funky looking thing a bit like the B-Wing, but without the face shield and with a top part.

That's a bit like what I did, though I used paint. I actually made a rough outline with pencil first, and then masked it.

I still need to get some styrene or something for those little black things too. For the black buttons, I'm thinking of just layering some styrene pieces together till it's thick enough.
