This is interesting - Okkto is collaborating with Gentle Giant Studios to produce a Dave Stevens comic-style Rocketeer helmet. The prototypes are on display at SDCC:

I like it, and will probably get one (if it's not too pricey).

Back in the early 2000s - when I was doing helmet kits - I tried painting one with flat colors, as if it had come out of the comics. It looked really odd, and I didn't care for it. So I changed course and made it bright gold. I had also installed green lenses and altered the shape of the fin.

I like the look of this one though.

I love the patina on this. If they keep the price under 400.00 I’ll pick one up.

I just did a little digging and there isn't any solid info yet. Seems like Okkto is spearheading this and Gentle Giant will just be the manufacturing partner.

Someone asked on Okkto's Instagram page when it would be available and they replied "We’re hoping late this year / early next year."

Someone else asked if it would be "less than $1k." They replied "We are aiming for a much more reasonable price than that."

Anyway, I'll definitely be keeping an eye out for intel...
