X-Men Cylcops Glasses

Wow! They finally made good cheapo replicas! Ordered! I'll review them when they arrive!
Cool cant wait. I've been wanting to pick up a pair after seeing a reliable review. Could you post pics when it arrives? The only reviews I can find are Oakley purists who whine and moan about screws not being the same style and that's just plain ol' unhelpful.

Absolutely!

It seems crazy that it only took 17 years for someone to finally make these. Can’t wait.

It’ll probably make me want to hunt down a real pair knowing my odd collecting habits.

These things are pretty great!

Very heavy metal construction. Did not expect that kind of weight and quality. Very impressive feeling in hand.

Like most commercial sunglasses with “red” lenses they have quite a bit of yellow in them when viewed from angle but it still mostly “reads” as red on normal viewing. I might Be tempted to hit them with a spray of candy red one day to get a deeper uniform red color but it’s totally acceptable as is.

Like the originals, The bridge of the glasses and the two lenses are held together as a separate piece with two screws. I’ve read in Juliet auctions for used pairs how this can get loose and there is definitely a slight wiggle. I havent Tried to tighten the two screws but it’s a very odd design choice to give the glasses such an unneeded point of failure.

The left lens has a faint “polarized” text printed in them along the bottom edge. You can only see it if you are looking for it. Not a big deal but worth mentioning.

I’ve been waiting for a pair of replicas like these since the 2000 movie came out. Very happy to finally have them in hand!

What kind of candy apple red do you use? Im working with X27 Tamiya clear but a spray would be great. Thanks nick!

I also stumbled across this-

And it looks like these sunglasses measure at 40mm making them X Metall XX replicas, not Juliet replicas. Interesting!
