Wow, Graflites are getting kinda pricey...

Gotta gripe for a moment. Bear with me...

It wasn't that long ago that I was able to find Graflite flashes for under $10. Got one for my grandad a a couple of years ago for $5. So, honestly I'm a little shocked at what they go for now. I'm looking for one for a project I've been meaning to do forever and I just checked eBay and it seems idiots that think they've found a Graflex are making it damn near impossible to afford one when you're on a budget. Anyone else notice this?

Yeah, last couple of camera swaps I went to I noticed the Graflites are a bit pricier than they used to be. In fact, pretty much all flash tubes across the board.

Of course, if you even touch any flash tube, they immediately pounce and ask, "are you going to cut it up to make a lightsaber?"

Morons.

I may be wrong here, but I believe that the ONLY prop (at least in the Star Wars realm) the Graflite is used in is (shudder!) Luke's saber in the Holiday Special.

The graflites also appear on the dashboard of an X Wing along with some R2 parts as well.

That's why I'm looking for one actually :lol I know it's ugly as sin but I kinda like it...a lot :lol

Then they pretend to be so offended at your intentions as they raise the price 400%. We are depriving camera collectors a bit, but come on. Lighten up. You're selling it at a phenominal price. If not for Star Wars, these things would still be going for $5. If anything the high prices keep them on the market. Not everyone who wants one can afford it. Also, the huge supply of MR sabers has probably slowed Graflex sales somewhat, yes?

Just you watch, in the years to come, camera collectors will buy up old Lightsabers to convert back into flash tubes.

What, it could happen. :lol
