Worst casting decisions ever made in movies

Oh come on people... it's like you all aren't even trying....

Even the Richard Gere casting wasn't as bad as...

Kevin Costner as Robin Hood...

Try getting that sound bite of him in his Southern drawl saying "I'm Robin of Loxley" out of your head....

Funny - we are SO close to agreeing...

Just last night I was telling a friend that I felt Gere in First Knight was even worse than...

Costner in Robin Hood.

Costner was able to look good, but was never a great actor nor demonstrated any gravitas. His voice was just plain weak.

He did well in Dances With Wolves... Where all he had to do was standing around and look pretty. Little or no talking...

He was good in Fandango and Silverado, in roles that required little depth or drama.

But he was a horrid choice for Robin Hood...

But...

I still feel Gere was worse.

Gere could not pull the correct accent and dialogue delivery either, and looked like a gigolo on trying to dress like a knight...

Costner's look at least was semi-OK

Have we mentioned Sleep Hollow...?

If we can side-step Burton's twist on the tale, and accept Johnny Depp as Ichabod Crane, I STILL cannot - nor ever will - get past Christopher Walken as The Headless Horseman

"Arrrrgggghhhhh.....!!!!!"

:(

Oh

My

Lord...

I'm a big Christopher Walken fan, but yeah, he had no place in that movie. It didn't work, especially for being such a small role, at least in terms of face time.

For Walken it really was a small role because he only played The Horseman in the few brief scenes when you could see his face and head. Otherwise it was stunt coordinator Rob Inch (on horseback) or Ray Park (everything not on horseback) playing The Headless Horseman.
