Wolverine Skeleton - Ideas?

Can't wait to see what you come up with, no matter the outcome. I'm sure the "ride" will be worth it.:thumbsup

Well that leaves out Al Clad then, a tiny bottle of that stuff goes for $7.

You could try Rubb N' Buff, and it might actually be cheaper then spray paint in the long run.

The only problem I have was most of the full-size skeletons available are just too short in height to look heroic :sleep

The head had great detail but was a little small in size and looked girly :lol
I never got around to making this replica, Skelly (as we call him here in my shop), just been sitting around collecting dust.
Nick

Most specimen skeletons came from China and India so they ran smaller in general. The majority of the skeletons are Women so they were even more petite.

In the 70s export of human remains was banned and reproduction skeletons became the norm, but the general practice was to use the Asian standard, and the female skeleton for the fake skeletons still. This was due to the availability of that gender and race and it was cheaper to make a smaller skeleton, and easier to store.

You can get bigger overall skeletons and different races here:

They have disarticulated, western Male skeletons in heights up to 6 feet. A bigger skeleton shortened in certain long bones would completely give a Comic Hero build to the assembled skeleton.

Shorten Femurs, Tibias, widen Clavicals etc,

You don't want waste a real bone skeleton on this, as they are getting incredibly expensive and rare, but these Bone Clone repros are stunning.
What's the price range for the bones? I can help find on within that. The cheaper you go the less choice you have as they will be Asian Women.

I'm curious about it Hydin. Should be a fun project, but since you are the king of crystals, I can only see you make an Indy 4 Alien skeleton from nothing but Crystal. :p :)

Cool stuff! Every time this comes up, it makes me want to do a gold plated "Azriel" skeleton from "Servant of the Bones"! :lol

Yep, his hands have to be in the right position or the claws won't pop.
Actually, ^THAT^ depends on whom one is talking to at the time. John Byrne (who pencilled some of the VERY BEST years of X-men) stated that Wolverine could extend his claws at will, no matter what the position of his hand was (& this was all WAY before anybody insinuated that the claws were part of Logan's natural anatomy (i.e., BONE before being sheathed in adamantium)). He talked about Wolverine having to pop his claws through the palm of his hand in situations where he was caught by surprise, with the butt of his palm up against someone/something (pushing, holding, etc).

Sarge, I did one of those as well :lol

I think I sold it to jedirick a few years back. It was the skull and a few extra bones in a pretty sweet box. Not plated though, just painted :)

No crystal skeleton :lol . I did get TONS of messages asking about it, but nah, not gonna happen. I don't think there is enough money in the world to have any of my factories actually try to make one of those things. Now.. crystal bones on the other hand... those might be coming soon ;)

Laffo - appreciate the link and the offer for help, but he's decided on using a bucky skeleton. He, much like me, is pretty strapped for cash. I don't mind, since most of the buckys (either 1st or 4th quality) tend to be pretty short, but in good shape.

It's going to be a hell of a project, but chances are the base coat will be aluminum house paint, and the detail stuff will be silver leafing. Hoping for aluminum blades and pewter or cast metal for the knuckle emitters.

It's going to be one hell of a build up, but it should be pretty fun :)

I might have a Bucky. Let me know if you're interested. He may be broken, cause they're kinda brittle, but let me know.

Always looking for a good deal on a bone set :)

PM sent your way!

This is an exciting project Chris - I can't wait for pictures. I'm glad you're going with the 80's comic wolverine - that's the one I grew up with and loved.

Every time I hear people talking about ordering skeletons (which doesn't happen often thank god) I always remember Return of the Living Dead, when they're in the warehouse ad the boss is telling the kid how they get all their Skeletons from india and they can order ones with perfect teeth. "They must have a skeleton farm out there". I read a story years later in the paper about how people in China would be abducted and killed for their body parts to sell. Yikes!

Any end results to this project?

If this is not done the coolest thing I could think of to do with it would be to lay him flat on his back in a tank and do the sculpt as if he were in the middle of the process of having the adamantium bonded to his Skeleton.

you can have aluminium literally melted down and sprayed onto the bones and then you can sand back and buff to a chrome finish? we use this technique at work

Get outta town?!!! I wish to have this now. :lol

But seriously I plan on having a full body x-ray next week( of which is a hook-up of sorts, so no cost to me) and will ask them to put in on disc, so I can have it put on x-ray film and have a full skeleton of myself ala X1 Jean Grey explaining Logan's powers as well as head and forearms cells to post as my Weapon X lab. The hard part is mocking a huge ass lighted x-ray film board to throw them all on. :)

Say what? That link has nothing to do with this thread. Unless your chose poor wording, and you mean that the Han desk would inspire a Wolverine in a tank table. Now THAT is the ultimate office furniture!
