Wolverine all day baby! Jackets, belts, claws, oh my.

No I don't work at or for Wolverine jacket. I was just extremely impressed by the quality. I had a lot of contact with Wade over e-mail and decided to try and help spread the word. I had a bad experience with the first Wolvy jacket I ordered and just though I could help others that are looking for a real nice Wolvy jacket out. Since I was promoting the jacket so much Wade gave me the promo code to offer. Also I was already attending the Comic convention in April, I thought I could help with getting the jacket out there. It seems like Myself and antman84 are the only ones that actually have the jacket. So I guess I'm not doing that good of job convincing anyone of the awesomeness

It is a very good jacket I think it's the best alternative to logans closet.
I don't mind not having the dip as I'm just looking for a jacket that I can wear everyday without having to tuck all my shirts in lol

dont worry solider ill get a jacket from "Wolverine jacket" even if it currnetly cheaper (in the UK) for me to get one from leathernext (i like surpporting the smaller companies), just saving my pennies and hoping a updated X-O jacket is made which is abit shorter and has the dip

Well, I think you have done a good job promoting it and if Wade hasn't already offered you some kind of a discount on your next jacket or something like that then he definetely should, lol.

I think that most of us just want a SA jacket and, with the information that has been posted about Wade looking for a new manufacturer, I for one will want to wait and see what happens on that.

Plus, $325 is still a lot of money for some people, myself included. So, I want to make sure I get what I want when I spend it. A slightly shorter torso, the dip in the back, and a weathering technique that doesn't leave stripes are the only changes I am looking for. When those happen, I will be ready to buy.

Just had to ask. It's great that you enjoy it so much you want to let everyone know. I'm in the same camp as Darkside on wanting more screen accuracy before lumping down more money on another jacket.

Between them and Heron I'm hoping for some good comparisons. I love my Vanson but would like a lighter weight jacket. So trying to decide on who to go with is a puzzler.

Vanson: accurate measurements, but heavy and pricey
Heron: accuracy? don't know as we've not seen the final, but good on price
Wolverinejacket: not there yet on accuracy, in between price.

I'd be willing to help Wade on the pattern if he'd like. I'm all for more options. But I'd need a mock up to work with. We could start with pics. If you post up clear ones both wearing it and not we could start there if he's interested. I was doing this with Heron as well.

As for Wested, they use a stock pattern (which is off) and switch to the other models. So none of them are correct. Though I don;t think the X2 is an option at all from them.

Sometimes dealing with us nitpickers is a royal pain in the ***** for a jacket that's not getting a lot of orders for. On the flip side though, if they went SA they'd get a ton more orders.

I'm hoping that in the future, or soon future, to see if there is a possibility of being a possible jacket model and or promoter. There is another comic convention is August near me. Who knows, I could be attending that one as more of a jacket promoter.

I had also approached Wade on making a Smallville jacket. I have a bunch of doc's and image material for the design. Thing were in motion to make it happen. But now that UD Replicas is making one soon, that is on hold, or worst not going to happen. as long as there is a good replica is made from UD I'm fine with that. They would be to hard to compete with.

Still not a fan of the new claw set up. They really need to come out of the top of the hand to make the illusion work.

I have to agree, I hate it when movies change things like that... it is like stabbing us with a knife... but it makes is even worse when they change them them to something that looks bad and doesn't make sense... it is like twisting the knife after they stab us.

I had considered making The Wolverine claws but IDK... I really don't like the way they come out of the hand.

The shape is kinda cool. More of a hook like Kuhkri blade feel.

Just don't like the connection area. Gives away the trick.

Also giving the blades a more antiqued finish is an interesting choice over the clean satin finish of the other claws.

I've heard that the knuckle overlaps hurt the actors hand. That must've been the main reason for the design change I'm guessing.

Saw the trailer, looks like they dressed Logan to be the next James Bond. Nice clothes and all, I prefered the cowboy trucker cafe racer style but I guess someone at fox decided it was time to move along... The movie looks ok.

could it be that they add it in later via computer its a long shot but who knows? the overlap always looks cool but my claws i plan to be retractable so there will be no overlap anyway

Yes I have noticed that as well... the claws never seem to be coming out in the same place. I have seen pics with them coming out like they were in the other films and I have seen them in several positions between that and where they look like he is holding them between his fingers, lol.

Maybe I will just have to come up with a 'compromise' that I think looks good.

Well now that I've seen a good close-up of the new claws I don't like them at all.. As for the boots. I like them a lot I actually own a pair and they're really comfortable. As for the darker coloring and black trim. When I put oil on mine they got dark they actually look exactly the same as the ones on screen. Now as for that gray trim around the sole, And there not being any of the crazy looking details on the soul of the boot. I would not be surprised one bit if somebody sanded the design off the sole and colored the trim with a permanent marker... Sending the sole would be literally no different than the way they shape it in the factory.

I'm not dumb enough to complain about a small change to the claws and think it'll influence the movie for me..

I preferred the older version, but the new one is fine, and if they'd used it initially, we'd all be fine as it is...They didn't, so some of us are now up in arms about it..But it's a little over the top...They're not bad...Just slightly differently placed...

And yeah, the Wolverine boots are not in doubt...The movie ones look far more used and worn in...But that's about it....No doubt there at all..The photos we've had have confirmed it, and the colour changes are all down to the wear on the boots shown...Fairly straight forward....

Even Wolverine agreed with me when I sent them an email about their boots being used in the movie...They didn't know, but agreed entirely..

The film looks good...I'm more than excited about how it's turning out...They've not overplayed the whole "samurai-ninja" thing, and I think it works well...Well balanced...Jackman is looking perfect as Logan, and the rest of the cast fit wonderfully too....Something I wasn't entirely expecting...

I have only good things to say about it...

I wasn't trying to be rude....I just happen to think that if you're the type of fan that would be put off a movie because the claws used in it were a slightly different design, that's a bit nutty....

Pointing out that they are different, and saying you liked the older ones better is fine enough...Just that that's all it is...One of us on a forum saying something no one will ever care about in a week or so....

I'm sorry if I offended you, I wasn't deliberately trying to to, although yeah, I was annoyed by the offhand way you dismissed the claws....

Sorry if you were hurt by my tone...I tend to speak bluntly...I see no need to sweeten things up in order to make them more easily heard..I wouldn't do it with my friends, and I see no need to do so here...

I don't recall reading about anyone saying that they hate the new claws so much that it would ruin the whole movie for them.

Like I was saying... it is mostly a continuity issue. Like in Batman where they changed from Katie Holmes to Maggie Gyllenhaa playing the character Rachel.

That was a much bigger change and it did impact the effect of the movie for me.

Anyways, I will still enjoy The Wolverine and I probably won't even notice the difference in the claws since they will be moving around all over the place.

I will be the first to admit that I am a little OCD. This is helpful in certain situations but can cause problems in others.

I think the majority of us here on this forum are a little "OCD"...It helps us work out exactly what we're looking at in films and then be able to copy what we saw...Modelling too...So yeah...I agree..And I'm the same..

I prefer the older design....It worked and looked good...But I wouldn't say the new ones are "bad", just not the same....There may well be a reason for that in the movie as well, since it looks like he may get his healing factor taken away? (A human body probably wouldn't respond well to Adamantium all over it's bone structure..So they may have removed that too...Although yeah..I know...I'm digging there....)

And yeah, I agree...Differences in the movies do come up often..I love Indiana Jones, and the differences in the hats and jackets in all the movies is enough to drive me nuts...Buuuut, (And this was the point), it's not big enough to say I dislike the movies...(Except the fourth..For reasons entirely NOT to do with the uniform..LOL)

As for the Batman thing..Yeah..Agreed..Maggie Gyllenhaal isn't as pretty as Katie Holmes either....I blame Tom Cruise for many things..And that's at the top of the list...LOL
