Wolverine all day baby! Jackets, belts, claws, oh my.

These buckles are looking great, the quality has really stepped up from earlier replicas. A couple of points... I've been doing these so long, I'm not sure what my original reference is, but I always thought the headband was green. Also, there is a "V" or "U" design on the tips of the feathers that you can see in many of the original photos. Here is a not-so-great shot of my personal buckle where you can, at least, see this detail:

DevilsTrap, I definitely like the dirtied feathers better, excellent natural looking patina!

Kind regards,
Magnoli

Thanks Indy! I'm really pleased with how the buckle turned out in the end. Also, it looks really badass in person. Yours looks a lot more accurate than mine does anyway. It looks almost like an exact replica of Hugh's buckle. I like it a lot! I did actually know that the headband section was supposed to be painted green but I much prefer the brass myself. It has some real age to it. Also, it helps hide the fact that the buckle has been artificially aged. Seeing a it is genuinely an old buckle, it would be a shame to completely conceal all that history beneath paint. It simply adds to the authenticity of the buckle.

Does the inverted buckle like Hugh's actually exist? Or was it just something that the prop department whipped up during the film's production. I'm failing to even track one down.

For those of us who have already seen The Wolverine: How awesome was the WW2 Nagasaki portion of the film! I love period productions and it was executed perfectly. It was one of the few parts of the film I actually enjoyed! Although I couldn't understand how Logan's pants didn't disintegration. I mean he nudded up in the weapon X scene, it's not like he's opposed to public displays of nudity. NO Home Oh!

The buckles the stunt guys wore, (possibly Hugh as well) were all inverted and not even metal. There's a buckle thread on filmjackets.com, but the stunt guy who did Liev's work said the buckles for the stunt guys were rubber so they wouldn't injure themselves with 'em, don't exactly remember why they were inverted but they were something the studio made, it's not a buckle you can find online, trust me we looked lol

That's unfortunate! I would have love to do one spot on to the original.

Does anybody have a template for a screen accurate replica of Logan's belt? I've got a good local tanner who can make me up a belt but I need the pattern.

Just seen the movie! I was blown away! Also my buckle looks nothing like the ones from any of the movies... I kinda like it that way. It feels more like my own thing. I have a Vanson X-1 and a Wested X-3 that I where all the time and mix it all up with my own style, seems to work for me. Lol here is my buckle. image.jpg image.jpg

Spoiler do not read if you haven't seen The Wolverine: Personally, I didn't like how they cut his claws, it didn't make any sense to me because adamantium can't be cut with other adamantium and I don't think it has a melting point that can be reached, but it is just movie. I thought the whole point of adamantium was that is was unable to be changed once it cooled like in X2. I realize it makes sense due to how metals work in the real world, but it's a nearly unbreakable alloy in the comics. I also understand that an adamantium bullet can hurt him. All that being said, I loved The Wolverine and I like the bones claws, the scene were they grew back was one of my favorite moments in all the X-Men films. I wonder if the reason the bone claws are not the same size is because they were just re-grown, just a theory. haha

Not sure if this has been posted before, but here's another shot of the boots from The Wolverine and this time you can see the soles.

TV8 I saw that same photo here Oh No They Didn't! - James "LOGAN" Howlett on set of X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST which claims it is a set photo from X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST, which if true means that he wears the same boots in both movies. I guess it would make sense considering how close they were filmed. Great find though, didn't even notice they were the same boots from The Wolverine and I own a pair. haha

The scene were he walks up to interrogate that guy when they take Mariko, there are a few close ups where you can really tell they are the Wolverine raiders. I know that commonbub already identified them with set photos, but it was cool to see them on the big screen. Adidas partnered with The Wolverine and had a commercial for the "springblade" shoe at the beginning of the showing I watched in theaters. I found it weird that they didn't partner with Wolverine boots since he sports a pair in the movie. Also, did anyone else notice the black looking shoes he is wearing when he boards the plane at the end?

I already identified the boot brand a while back, they are Wolverines. I'm wearing them as I type now.

Yeah you did! And now I'm thinking of getting a pair. I take a US size 12 in Converse Chuck Taylors and Palladium boots. Are these Wolverine Raiders pretty true to standard sizing?

I'm still wanting info on the X1 X suit boots :( lol 1004523_700785949936662_230277922_n.jpg

Here's my extra lightweight foamboard claws, hardened with wood glue & used Valspar spray paint. "Oooh. Shiny!"

Been debating on what Wolverine jacket to get for ages. X1 or an Origns jacket. Is Logan's Closet the only vendor that makes a good X1 jacket?

I use to have a David Pimentel jacket and LOVED it. not so sure what's available anymore

I have a Vanson Origins, and if you don't like getting looked at then it's not suggested...Owned a Vanson X1 too as well, the looks were a lot less than the looks I got with my Origins...Depends on what kinda look and feel you want. As far as I know, I'm the only one on here who's owned both. If you have any questions, PM me and I'll answer em.

I really didn't like this guy's performance as wolvie but maybe you guys will. Interesting vid nonetheless.

I've owned an X1, X0, and an X3 from Logan's Closet, all top notch jackets and in my opinion if you are looking for a real motorcycle jacket as opposed to a fashion jacket they are by far the best Wolverine jackets available. The X1 is more of a square cut jacket whereas the X0 is closer fitting. The X3 is very comfortable, easy to move in, and attracts less attention, but for me the sleeve seams will rub your elbow raw if you're working hard in it. Commonbub's right, just depends on the look you want. As for other vendors I've heard that many people like the Heron Wolverine jackets.

Totally forgot about Flynn here, but I also have an X2...You have to be bold if you're going to wear any of them. That's all I'm going to say.
