These buckles are looking great, the quality has really stepped up from earlier replicas. A couple of points... I've been doing these so long, I'm not sure what my original reference is, but I always thought the headband was green. Also, there is a "V" or "U" design on the tips of the feathers that you can see in many of the original photos. Here is a not-so-great shot of my personal buckle where you can, at least, see this detail:

DevilsTrap, I definitely like the dirtied feathers better, excellent natural looking patina!
Kind regards,

Thanks Indy! I'm really pleased with how the buckle turned out in the end. Also, it looks really badass in person. Yours looks a lot more accurate than mine does anyway. It looks almost like an exact replica of Hugh's buckle. I like it a lot! I did actually know that the headband section was supposed to be painted green but I much prefer the brass myself. It has some real age to it. Also, it helps hide the fact that the buckle has been artificially aged. Seeing a it is genuinely an old buckle, it would be a shame to completely conceal all that history beneath paint. It simply adds to the authenticity of the buckle.
Does the inverted buckle like Hugh's actually exist? Or was it just something that the prop department whipped up during the film's production. I'm failing to even track one down.
For those of us who have already seen The Wolverine: How awesome was the WW2 Nagasaki portion of the film! I love period productions and it was executed perfectly. It was one of the few parts of the film I actually enjoyed! Although I couldn't understand how Logan's pants didn't disintegration. I mean he nudded up in the weapon X scene, it's not like he's opposed to public displays of nudity. NO Home Oh!
