Why Vader does not let Boba shoot Chewy???

But Finn's comment about his trooper armor are about an entirely different generation of armor. In the SW universe, the armor the troopers wear seem to get weaker and weaker with each generation.

Don’t forget that he was the guy in waste extraction. He probably didn’t need a fancy set of armor.

You wear more than one hat when in the military. On top of his regular duties, my father ran a candy store and the laundry when in the Navy. Besides, I doubt they'd send a trooper into battle in his sanitation uniform.

The reasons I always figured about that were...

1. He doesn't want Leia or Han accidentally shot.
2. He could use Chewie's life later on as a bargaining chip to coerce Leia to work against the Rebellion and that's more valuable than a couple of stormies.
3. Firing blasters inside the chamber might have been dangerous.
4. He wants everyone alive including Chewie to draw Luke out.

It's a cool character moment for Fett that he's side stepping Vader's authority by taking matters into his own hands and Vader ain't havin' it.

I just came across your post and thought I would glance at what others thought about your question.

Man, your thread has been highjacked by so many other random questions. Sorry Dude.

Anyway, I always questioned that same thing regarding that scene. It wasn't until the prequels that I felt some personal closure. (Of coarse, this theory is total speculation and could be wrong but maybe Lucas was trying to subtly resolve this question that has perplexed so many fans.

3PO was on his back and Anakin built 3PO. It seems plausible that Vader didn't want 3PO hit. I motive still selfish but seemed compassionate. Thoughts?
