Why has no one made a 'spectral analyzer' from Mib?

The little dirt testing device that K uses (in MiB 1). Why is it no one has made it?

Here are some pictures for reference.

Ah...so the botton on top opens the gadget. On one side we have the lights and on the other...what is that? A battery compartment?

I've always thought the same thing, a very cool prop, but those small LEDs look like a ***** to rig up! I'd love to get in on a run if someone took on the project

I heard, that some kind of coffee scoop was the base for this prop. We never managed to find the right one.

Here are some pics I took at PH Orlando this year:

great pics & looks like a neat idea. Would you get LEDs in each of those colors (purple? pink?!) or just create some sort of colored overlay?

There is a lot of hotglue at the hinges. Do you suppose they did that to hold it open for display?

That really looks like fiberglass to me, though I would think making it out of metal shouldn't be THAT hard.
Maybe Rick can add some insight to the prop. :love

It's not a coffee scooper. All custom machined. Nice piece, and bigger than it looks in the pics.

Matt, so this IS a metal piece? I only ask because the inside of the walls look like there are fibers in it, of course it could just be the machine marks. Any idea (if you had to guess) on the size of the length?
(you see? I don't hate you! :))

Ah yes, the pot shots cease when I have something you need!!! LOL. No worries dude, all in good fun. (well, MY comments are in good fun :lol)

To be clear, the master was custom made, not an off the shelf piece. The one in the pictures (and possibly the screen used one) is clearly (imho) a chromed fiberglass body. Which makes total sense.
