who made this pumpkin bomb kit?

i've just got a pumpkin bomb kit off The Batman and wanted some more info about it. It comes in 6 parts, and its been made so a 9v battery can be put inside with the bottom of the "bomb" being able to be unscrewed to allow access to the battery, there are also holes in the top for leds. The inside is hollow and you can see through the "bomb" through the little slits (where it would light up green). So, this has obviously been made to take electronics, what i'd like to know is what exactly to use for the insides? Hopefully the original maker of the kit is here so he/she can answer. Most importantly i'd like to know what to put inside to cover the slits (did it originally come with a custom made insert?), its not just a case of putting a ball inside, as the inside isnt a sphere and how to arrange the electrics inside so that when the bomb is lit up it doesnt make a big battery (or switch) shadow.

Hopefully the maker can help! (or someone who's had the same kit :))

I don't know who the maker is but you can easily fit a small 12v or 9v in the bottom piece with a LED sticking out and a small switch with the battery, cover it with a piece of styrene, not noticable at all

how small can you get 9v batteries?! the idea i had was to have a piece of pvc tube inside wide enough to take the battery (pp3) and have leds wired up sticking out of the pipe in a circle, so when its lit up the light it comes from the inner so you shouldnt see the pipe. still stuck on what to use as the "ball" inside though. not sure where to get metallic orange paint either

cant help much but here are some pictures of a real one next to the licensed version, notice the replica on the right is mirrored or "backwards":

Me.

you made it you mean? what parts did you intend to be put inside? what was meant to be used to cover the insides? did you have any electronics specific for this? how to attach a switch to the dome without it casting a shadow when lit up? position of leds etc? do you have any pics of a build? one of the shells is a bit misshapen on mine too, is there any way of bending it back into place? heating? or will it just snap?

robstyle, thanks for the pics, they'll be handy when i'm painting it to get the finish right :)

It was never sold as a complete kit.
I left the electronics and insides to the talent of the builder, because at the time, everyone complained that a more complete kit was be too much money.

Typical Chanpagne tastes with a Beer Budget.

On thread, it was discussed that a XMAS ornament was used for the inside and all it needed was LEDS and power source. Higher price for electronics was NOT justified because everyone was SO readliy available.

So, I sold what everyone was budgeted for. Then someone was nice enough to recast it.

So I walked away from the project in disgust. I have never sold any since.

Shame too. Could have been a fun project.

Yours looks like one of the kits I sold, but it could also be a knock off.
Mine were pressure cast and bubble free. If you have bubbles, its a recast.

hi, thanks for the reply. no mine hasnt got any bubbles in it, its a really nice cast. regarding the misshapen part, is there any way i can fit it without snapping it?

you should start making them again, i've been after one of these for years (and never seen any of the recast kits on ebay), i'd guess the recaster has stopped? i'd love a more complete kit though, with an inside and some idea of electronics for it. i couldnt find the original thread for them, was it deleted? have you got any pics of a build?

Yeah the castings I had...key word... HAD....looked like THAT!!
