Hasbro Green Goblin mask & Pumpkins

I think the offers must rotate because he used it today. My phone was too old to download the app but I think it might be available for some folks on there if google is to be believed
I can confirm - the 25% shows for me in my Target Circle account, good till Nov 16.

Oof yeah I did not have that budgeted a month early, thanks Amazon. Hasbros estimates are really off lately.

Amazon just delivered the pumpkin bomb. Impressions out of the box: the copper/orange desperately needs to be painted. Most of its just metallic swirl orange plastic and a.) it looks cheap b.) the LEDs shine through it. Looks like it should be easy enough to disassemble; there's four screws under the battery cover that should allow the outer shell to come off.

Otherwise? This is cool as hell. The LEDs are bright and the sound clear. Roing it across the floor and seeing the countdown is rad. For the price this thing is great.

I agree the orange looks quite plasticy. There are two panels where the speaker is located where the plastic is much thinner and you can see the light shine right through it.

I'm not really a fan of the laughing sound effects. It's weird Hasbro didn't add any electronics whatsoever to the Goblin helmet, cause the laughing sound would have made much more sense for the helmet instead.

You can shake the bomb once to achieve the same effect as rolling it, so you don't have to actually roll it. In total there are four modes (press once, press twice, hold for 3 seconds for lights only, and roll).

It has much more functionality than the Diamond Select bomb. That one you just press the button to turn the lights on/off and that's it. Nothing else. The DS one is super oversized at 5 inches diameter. The orange on it looks much more metallic though. I'm pretty sure the orange is actually metal (die cast perhaps?) as it's cold to the touch. The fake molded screws look better on the Hasbro, where as they are just round nubs on the DS. I'm not a fan of that seamline along the circumference of the DS.

It would be nice if it came with a display stand. Kind of odd that it doesn't since several of Hasbro's other handheld prop replicas do.

Overall I am happy with the functionality and scale of the Hasbro. For $40 I'd say it's definitely worth it.

There's also a "deactivation" function for the rolling effect countdown. If you push the button once while it's counting down, it makes a little power-down sound effect and stops the sequence.

Re the plastic: It unfortunately appears they used glue in the assembly so it may not be possible to disassemble to repaint. I'm considering just masking it all off to paint it.

I desperately wanna disable that laughing sound effect but would like to keep the beeps. Any idea if that's remotely possible or should I be expecting to lose all sound?

I’ll add the photos below in “thumbnail mode.” Just click them and they should open up.

My first in hand impression is I am very impressed by the quality of this piece. It feels sturdy, and looks good. There are a few seam lines on the face but they’re pretty subtle. I will take care of those when I fill the screw holes in the back. One of my ears was difficult to get in place, but with some persuasion it did snap in eventually. The other ear snapped right in, no problem whatsoever. Fit is a little tight but I’ve got a big head. (24” for reference.) As far as the stand goes? Worthless, IMO. Overall I’d say there is a very good chance you will be happy with this helmet. I sure am.

On to the pics. I tried to capture it exactly as it was to my eyes, and then I added a few pics with some color for fun.

I got a notification mine is ready to collect from EB Games. Hoping it's the pumpkin bomb as well as the mask (the notification is distressingly vague). I'd honestly totally forgot I pre-ordered this!! Probably pick it up tomorrow on the way though town.

Questions:
1) How's the green colour on the mask? Is there any hint of the green/purple colour-shift effect or is it pure green? How hard does it look to disassemble/mask up for painting?
2) Has anyone disassembled the pumpkin bomb yet for repainting? Looks like some parts are pretty thin and plasticy and light shines through so would like to repaint that as well in a nice metallic orange.

No color shift that i can tell, just metallic dark green, looks easy enough to disassemble, just screws on the inside that remove covers that hold the lens and black mouth piece in place

Picked up the helmet today (my Pumpkin Bomb is expected later this week).
It's really nicely done and has a super clean finish. The metallic green paint is gorgeous, though the lack of any colour shift is a bit of a bummer. There's a heap of screws on the inside so I think it will easily disassemble to paint up. The gold finish on the eye's is really nice, but I can see that it would be really fragile, so care should be taken if anyone does a repaint.
I'm a little surprised it doesn't have any AV functionality but ultimately the batteries are removed for display anyway.
The stand is ... pretty lacklustre. It leaves the mask's painted chin resting on the shelf, rather than elevating the whole thing, so I can see scratches or wear being a risk. I'm not that bothered by the minor sculpt differences between the 2002 and 2021 versions - it's still iconic and instantly recognisable.
Most importantly, it's absolutely worth the price they're charging. If you can get it on a sale price? Absolutely!

I'm kind of more excited for the pumpkin bomb. I started 3D printing one a few months ago but got stalled trying to work out the lights and sounds. For the price they're charging for this, I think I'm going to order a second one for a proper display. Agree they shouldn't have the Goblin laugh on all modes, but it is what it is. Hopefully not too hard to disassemble or at least mask off for painting.

I really love these random collectables that pop up out of the blue. They're so much fun.
