I'm a little shocked that no one here is making a nice "arc gun" from district 9. There is a ton of reference material for it now.
The Bike from Akira isn't that far out, it's defiantly more doable than the tumbler or the land speeder.
I'm willing to bet at this point Avatar is going to be big. There was just a short feature put on youtube about the hardware (guns) I'm surprised no one has posted the images of those guns yet. I'm sure a lot of people are going to want those.
I'm also a little surprised no one makes a replica of the button that destroyed the forbidden planet. I'm thinking about making one to turn the lights on and off in my shop.
With the economy going the way it is I believe we are going to see entertainment shift more to video games. For the same price as a trip to the movies you can pick up a used game an get hours of fun out of it. And the wii has opened up play options with the ladies that normally wouldn't be interested in video games. I'm thinking that more and more people are going to put sentimental value on replicas based on items from video games.
But mostly the bike from Akira, and it has to be electric. That's really the only prop I can't get out of my head right now. As soon as my windturbine is finished I think I'm going to take a stab at the Akira bike myself.
1. The magic carpet from the second League of Extraordinary Gentlemen graphic novel. The one that flew the hero to Mars and back. The design is well-illustrated (if simplistic) in the book, but it costs serious cash to have someone make a persian-style rug nowadays.
2. My new desire: the mirror of Twilight from The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. I like the look of it.
3. A working rollable Sao Feng's chart from Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End. I have an idea how this might be done with mylar, but haven't had the opportunity to test my ideas yet.
And if we're going all-out, Charlize Theron from Aeon Flux.
A gold voyager omni. wanted one since the show first premiered when i was seven.
A tumbler from Batman Begins
A studio scale Star Trek TMP Enterprise
And last but not least a complete Batman Begins Costume
I nice gravity leveler would be an amazing piece to own ....Aaaaaand a lot easier to ship. As opposed to say a LIFE-SIZE-ALUMINUM-FALCON!!
There is one on her buckle as well as the fuel tank of the motorcycle. These things look rather nice as a collectible. Not sure what would be involved in fabricating one (or a limited production) but, with spinnies and lights, I would guess the 200-250 range would not be out of the question. Dunno. Ultimately, it would depend on the demand for them.
....anyhoo. Just felt like a few of these gents need to know who is A LOT hotter than Charlize Theron!!! LOL!!! *running*
