Which dream prop would you want?

- 1:1 APC personnel carrier from Aliens (BTW, what happened to the one that was in the movie?)

IIRC it was a german airport luggage truck that was dressed up and later returned to the stuido rental pool. Hope I'm wrong though. :unsure

I thought the one with the moving cannon was a scale model.
Guess we have to go shopping for used German airport vehicles.

O.K. I'm totally seeing this!

Full size Millennium Falcon... unfortunately it won't fit in my back yard. Gonna need to buy some land first. :lol

I'd settle for something small-ish. I've always wanted the Wrath or Khan Genesis Device (with Bridge controller, of course!).

I am not sure of the correct model, but I have a little bit of I believe lesser known info.
A few years ago at a meeting the "Aliens" Production designer Peter Lamont told me the story of how they refinanced the build of that thing. They had bought the aircraft mover complete as it was, meaning it was full of lead as ballast. They didn´t have any use for it, so they simply sold all the lead, with the prices back in the days being quite high they were able to build that thing for no money, i think they even made some additional cash :lol:lol:lol

I believe they used this one

Guys...

Rick is an amazingly talented prop maker. He does this for a living. (which means propmaking is how he pays his bills...)

I doubt he was looking for ELEVEN pages (and growing) of:

FULL SIZE MILLENNIUM FALCON!

CHARLEZE THERON!!!

And I apologize to the folks who actually submitted valid suggestions.

Do you like when people waste YOUR time? Sometimes, someone has to be obnoxious and point out the obvious... So, I will take the bullet on this one.

I think it is a valid observation...(and quite a bit more constructive then telling Rick you want Charleze Theron...)

Doy.

Does anyone has some GOOD suggestions? Like...

What films have you worked on? Do you still have the original molds or reference for any cool prop replicas you could make from those? (Like your MiB J2 project)

There ya go...

Well, the integrity and possible usefulness of this thread was compromised almost immediately when Lukesroomate leapt in with his insanely hilarious "Charlize Theron" quip.

Isn't he the dork who entertained us about three years ago with his tale recounting about he "almost" left with one of the curvy convention models on his arm... or was that 'Zoid? I can't recall.

Anyway, I purchased a prop done here at the RPF by [member Y] and it was definitely substandard. I traded that version away as soon as possible when I learned Rick had done a version of the same prop. The difference in quality is insane!

I love my version of the XXX XXXXXXX which I got from him, and although it was about 50% more, it was worth every penny and then some. YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR. :love

Rick, I would like a working [lights] all metal version of your J2, with no corners cut. [resin parts] I would be willing to pay up to 2K for your work on that piece ...although I'd be a lot happier at or below 1.5K. :lol

J.

wow. i thought the majority DID post make honest suggestions, even if they also threw in stuff like MILLENIUM FALCON(in their defense, though, people have built 1:1 X-wings, so why not throw it out there). the WORKING LIGHTSABER and obligatory hot babe thing aside, i posted serious suggestions. and this is about DREAM props.

The Millennium Falcon idea was just something I would dream of, never suggested that someone would take my post seriously :rolleyes
