What's on your workbench? (no Star Wars, Marvel or DC stuff)

Re: What's on your workbench?

Its not exactly on my workbench.. Its actually in my workbench. I've been making a latex oven over the past few weekends. Fired it up last night.. Works great!

Re: What's on your workbench?

I've been making molds...

Lots of molds...

When I counted, it turns out I had 15 large-ish molds and 3 smaller molds in progress simultaneously. This is a new record for me. I burned through 12 gallons of silicone in 2 days!

Once I'm finally allowed to talk about this project, it's going to be pretty darned cool.

I promised I'd make my young padowan's some lightsabres a while back, so in between polishing the masters for my other project, I made a start on them

I've ordered EL tape for the blades as there is just enough room in the hilts for an inverter and batteries.

I am working on Meg Masters Necklace from Season 6-7, I got most of the components, I am teaching myself how to solder right now to make the framed pendant. And I am also going to learn how to cast resin, to make the buddha bead more opaque looking like glass.
Here is what I got so far and what she wears.

Re: What's on your workbench?

Technically it is my kitchen counter, but here is $35 of rubber curing away.

Somewhere in there is a nosecone shaped block of balsa. When I get home from work I'll find out if I made a mold or a mess. The first half look good so I'm fairly confident. Famous last words?

This was MoldStar 30 just after I poured it, and even though MoldStar does not require it looking at that really makes me want to get a vacuum pump and chamber.

Re: What's on your workbench?

I don't know if it is ever really completely off the workbench but I recently weathered it a little more. Seems like there is always something else to do on these.
