BUT you may want to consider replacing the resin trigger guard with a nice metal one. It looks like it could snap off if some one looked at it funny. Everything else looks AMAZING.

I just finished cleaning my workbench/shop up! Now I can actually get on some projects I have on the shelf!! I am working on a Type-III phaser rifle(TNG/DS9) from scratch(pic of my template below), and also a Type-IIIb phaser rifle kit I picked up at a Star Trek con. I think I'm going to turn my whiteboard into a chalk board because the scribbles have been on there so long they won't come off Haha!! The downstairs shop is still a mess of misc. projects, but they are not all mine. One of these days... I hope!

recently I started working on a Pokeball for a friend. Not the hardest thing I've ever done, but its been a while since I've carved wood... so I left with a few gashes after that.
no pictures of it with cleaned up lines yet and I haven't put a clearcoat on the outside but for being a quick weekend project I was pretty happy with it.

I'm fixing up my sculpts of the Rebel pilot wrist comm pads from ANH (X/Y-wing) and ESB (Snowspeeder pilot). Here is the ANH one, before the last layer of primer.
I am striving for maximum accuracy to the real thing, except that the base will be something flexible to better fit the arm, and there will be a "tell" or two that only I know of.
I am just starting to get the hang of resin casting, and will be offering casts in the JY later.

I know this is a props folder, but I've seen a few costume piece WIPs...hope ya don't mind. :$
Been chewing away at these goggles for a bit. Urethane rubber, with a temporary acrylic paint job to see how it's coming along. Halfway through stripping the paint off, in favor of actual Urethane paints. Fitting some thick acrylic lenses to make the wearer's eyes look huge. Also, the straps will have a buckle.

Here is one of the projects I have been working on for the last few months. It’s not perfect but I hope to get it close based on the limited photo references available.
Presenting my one eyed pirate skull.
It was based on a cheap "Bucky" skull that I bought a few years ago for Halloween. The left eye socket was filled with bondo. The right socket was reworked with bondo and slightly widened. The original teeth were ground off and new ones were cast from tinted epoxy. The lower jaw was also reworked to support the new teeth. Next comes some texture and finally paint. Once finished I hope to start a new thread on it.

I've owned 2 Logan's Run gun replicas over the years and built a couple out of tube and black electrical tape before those. It seems of all the props I've made and sold, this particular replica is one I am always willing to buy again and again. Looking for that "as close as possible" kit that screams keep me! Here is a kit I just received from Nicksdad. One of his metal Logan's Run DS Flame Guns. If, like me, you don't have one of Rylo's working guns, then this is a fine substitute. :thumbsup It's all machined aluminum except for the side plates and grips and comes ready for hooking up of the green LED and battery.
It is just too cool! :cool I love the way it all screws together and even though I'll be having a friend spray it with automotive paint, I actually like the raw metal look. It reminds me of an old stainless steel Ruger 22 I had years ago.

I guess this is OT even tho it is on the bench right now. I thought Lapchick in Gumball Rally rode one but the internets are disagreeing with me. I swear I remember a dude dressed as a groom, with a bride manniquin behind riding an RD in a race movie.

I have had a few things going in the garage for a while, and only now can I show you the results:
The first mold had worn out, and so had my back. Why bother making a new mold if it sends my to the grave a hunched over old man? I bought a welder and built the beginning a rotocaster!
The mold came out beautifully andis producing very clean castings. It needs a motor.
