What's on your workbench? (no Star Wars, Marvel or DC stuff)

Re: What's on your workbench?

Just finished up a base for my stargate mannequin after getting my dremel replaced, something other than just glass. Honestly tho, am not happy with the lines or paint so going to make a 2nd one

I found these in a closet, they are going to get a repaint

Not a prop, still needs about a couple a hundred wires brazed in for the wing veining and I need to hammer out the head.

Where'd you pick up the Interceptor? It's slick!

It is an Aoshima kit. They goofed up the dish on the rear wheels and the motor is molded into the base while the blower glues to the underside of the hood. Other than that a very good kit.

Re: What's on your workbench?

I've been working on a resin Han Solo Hero blaster for myself:

More photos here:

I'll post a seperate post at some point. This is probably the BEST Hero resin kit I've seen since we (the rpf guys) started casting these parts 8 years ago.

I'm also working on a balsa wood cessna airplane for my son (photos coming). I haven't worked with balsa like this in years, so it's been an interesting project. I'm also working on a very rare Luke ANH droid caller for a friend (Christmas present). Photos pending on that one.

I was just wondering about the cast. The picture shows a standing woman, yet your cast is of a lying woman. Aren't you afraid that her boobs are hanging in the wrong direction?

Re: What's on your workbench?

I started with a brass barrel which I drilled and cut to size according to the BBC templates.

I got some resin parts from Doopydoos and a real Sterling folding stock from wtac.

I also got the Hengster counter, the scope and the mag cylinders from Barking Dragon (thanks again, Dan!).

Here's where I am now, after epoxying and filling.

The brass tube and the folding stock gives good heft to the blaster.

Next: primer!

Nice build (y)thumbsup:thumbsup

BUT you may want to consider replacing the resin trigger guard with a nice metal one. It looks like it could snap off if some one looked at it funny. Everything else looks AMAZING.

The picture of the model was just to show you the model-- Not necessarily the pose. The picture with the feathers around it was a woman lying down---
that was the pose we were going for. Not too worried about the boobs. It turned out pretty much like I wanted and there will be the feather coverup on them anyway!

Thanks, dude! I did look for a metal trigger guard but I was unable to acquire one. I also don't have the tools to make one so I just settled for the resin guard. Besides, it's gonna be purely for display so hopefully it'll stay in one piece! :lol

Here are some updated pics after priming:

You got any more info on this kit? Any metal replicas probably wont make it through german customs ...
