What's on your workbench? (no Star Wars, Marvel or DC stuff)

Re: What's on your workbench?

I sort of disappeared off the radar due to being made redundant, all is well now though.

Anyway seeing Sir Rounds post gave me the itch again, so heres my workbench at the mo.

I found this amazing plastic in the in-law garage which has a very dense foam core, you can shape it with boiling water, sand it and so on.

Ignore the head, its just a rough cast thats been though the mill.

There are a few more shots in my Photobucket if you care to look.

Re: What's on your workbench?

I'm waiting to work on;
Russrep ANH Obi Grenade
Russrep ANH Obi Emitter
Real Graflex Clamp
Roman Spacer
Undetermaned Booster
Roman New Sink Knob

Re: What's on your workbench?

I have a friend that can make the two large and two small cylinders that are on the E-11 Stormtrooper blaster on his lathe, so I'll be soon adding those to my MR blaster along with the Hengstler counter to jazz it up a bit.

As of this evening, this is now on the workbench and will be put to use vacuuming out RTV. The first pump only pulled 26.5" Hg, and this one should be able to get a full 29". The chamber is an aluminum stock pot with 1" plex on top.

your local weather can also effect that..with a high pressure front I have pulled 30 and when its a low pressure front I get 29..science is fun

Re: What's on your workbench?

Thus far, this is frustrating me. I went out to get an adapter to attach a 1/2" hose to the brass fitting. The threads are not 1/2", or any other size I found at home depot. Also, as I ran the pump, oil is coming out the rear of the handle.

Fettster: There aren't any plans. What you see is a large stock pot aquird from ebay, fitted with a 1/2" barb to attch the hose, and a 1/" ball valve to let the pressure bleed off. (otherwise you could never lift the lid)

There is a 1/8" rubber gasket to seal between the pot and the plex. That's all.

Thanks Pal. I thought there might be something i was missing. Seem hard to justify the price that companies charge for these off the shelf

Re: What's on your workbench?

I've almost finished this:

The weathering/patina isn't that strong in person, it's more like this:

And I'm working on another paper-mache helmet (personal design) and a sci-fi or steampunk rifle (I haven't decided yet) based on a M16.
And I still have to finish my Sweeney Todd razor (I should mold and cast the pieces to do a "final" master, and then see if I could make it in metal...:unsure
