What's on your workbench? (no Star Wars, Marvel or DC stuff)

got 2 projects on the go, first and its been working my 3d printer to the bone for weeks now, i downloaded off thingiverse and then cranked it to 400% - surturs crown

last bit nearly done

and waiting in the wings ready to get going once surturs crown is done is a predator head - when i started out it went to thingiverse but wasn't happy with the options availible but it did provide some great reference and starting point for modelling my own. (cant remember exactly who's its based on but if i upload it to thiniverse will find out who to credit later) at first i was thinking mask but i really have no intention of wearing it so when i modelled it i put in the whole head which ment i could have the recesses for adding the "hair" for which i've got some neoprene rubber.......rods...dowels... hmmm whatever you call long neoprene rubber cylinders :)

can't show my workbench until after October. The commissions I'm working on would give preview to the haunted attractions in my area.

update on my projects - surtur is done and mounted on my cinema wall (looks almost comically large) decided to not use the chain as it didn't add much on the all and the glowing eyes are more interesting and feeding the chain through the eye hole makes them not work properly - the predator is getting there but a few bits to do - one more aluminium plug and some holes in the laser emitter and installing the red led - and redoing the neck seal as i cut it out from the back of the rubber and the ribbing is running the wrong direction and once thats done will print out a bone necklace and then finally some copper pipe bead type things for the 'hair'

Been a while since I’ve stopped by but I figured I had to since I’ve got two iconic universes on my workbench this week.

Spock was sculpted by Howard Senft, painted by myself. It will be haired by another artist. Opaque resin, lifesize.

Boba Fett is one of those $30 Rubies Fett’s they sold at target a few years back. Just winged the paint job. I’ll focus on accuracy when the Black Series helmet comes out next year. Just have to give it a few light weathering passes and it can go back up on my shelf. Fun fact..The metallic base coat alone was a six step process!

I've been working on this Predator 2 combi spear replica. Bought as a kit, and a pretty good one at that. At first I thought it was a recast of the MR replica, but it's not.

After looking at pictures of the MR version, it looked like mine was missing the four protruding nodules you can barely see here (I hope the MR version is accurate)

I've got eight of these beauties in various spots around my shop at the moment:

I'll be weathering them today:
49313815308_ea316067e2_c.jpg

Then there's these other pieces:
49310597136_93b3379a17_c.jpg

They're just two of the nine copies of this helmet I'm weathering.

I'm also prototyping the Heavy Infantry Mando from the Mandalorian and a re-do of the First Order Flametrooper helmet from the new trilogy:

Finally, the other day I made lenses for this helmet that's been sitting in the corner waiting for me to get around to it forever:

Now I just need to cut out the Inferno Squad decals and add the red stripes.

Love your work, can’t wait to see the finished weathering.
Can I please ask where you got the mandalorian helmet stand from ?

Got these 2 fellas on the go at the moment, still at fill, sand and prime. A couple of days should see the mando ready for paint

Any uk members building the mando helmet know where I can get a visor from I’m hitting a brick wall, the ones I’ve seen are taking way to long to get here (from international sellers) and the uk ones I’ve seen are a little to light

I made it. A few years ago I was offering that one along with Imperial and Republic cog versions in the Junkyard, but nobody ever bought them. So now I just have a stack of them that kick around the shop whenever I need a convenient place to put a helmet.

Need to build myself 3 I think

Polishing up a short puppet show I created back in the '90s for Atom Films. It was one of the first episodic shows on the internet called The Thickuns. Andy Boswell and I sculpted, puppeteered 4 episodes for the fun of it. It was fun and exhausting to create these lifesize puppets but made building the sets and props much easier to deal with.

Those are cool! I don't have any helmets (yet) or I'd buy some.
