What's On My Workbench?

Whoo hoo I found Shoe Goo! I'll clean off the CA glue from the velcro strips and the latex, then re-apply with this Shoo Goo stuff. I WANT to take pics, but dammit I want to have it all ready to go before I do. I can't take pics without the gauntlets on because the suit has those retarded flappy ass gauntlet fins and they would just look goofy. Plus, I need to get a black dickie for my neck so that I can glue the neck part to it.

Pics soon...

Finally getting back into the swing of props again now that Dec/Jan have gone.

I'm going to make Arnie look like this:

I cut out the eyes

And used Apoxie to sculpt the endoskull eye socket:

Some of the primer came off when I was dremelling, but thats ok cause I have to re-prime it anyway.

Added some Apoxie to the cheeks temple and forehead to make him younger. Going to sand it down tonight and cross my fingers that it makes Arnie look younger...

Sanded for a while tonight. The only downside is that the pores in the skin are lost, but at least he looks more like T1 now.

Jason, I have no idea how did I missed this thread, once again you amazed me on your craftmanship, I love the time you put into every piece to make sure it comes out like a legit movie prop.

Thanks for documenting this step by step, I know I will put it to good use in the future.

AMAZING bro AMAZING !!

Chris

Thanks for the kind words Chris! I'm looking at the pics again and seeing that his jowls need to be sanded down a bit more. Hopefully later tonight...

Looking great Jason! You could recover the pores by taking a texture stamp from an unsanded portion of the bust. Maybe lay a thin coat of apoxie sculpt over the sanded areas and use the stamp to regain the texture? Just a thought.

The apoxie I have is too old and dried up to put a thin layer over it. Crap. If I didn't need to sand it down I could have put the texturing in while it was almost dry but thats not gonna work.

I might be able to tap a small ball tool onto the hardened apoxie and create pores...not sure. If it doesn't work it will just be smooth skin ;)

Hey... who's to say Arnie did use a lot of lotion when he was younger and maybe a little bit of face creamer of some sort to give him a porcelain epidermis, .

A storm is coming !!!! PredatrHunter everything you touch become gold !!! Here's an example again, can't wait to see it painted...

I seem to find myself unable to paint something when I have resin that needs prepping or priming. Here's what I'm working on:

22 inch T-Rex head from the Stan Winston molds. This thing is a beauty, but it's going to be a challenge to cut the lower jaw off and insert the upper and lower teeth and tongue.

Stuff I'm currently working on: T-Rex bust, 2 clay sculpts, 2 masks, Arnie's head and 2 Predator heads. Should keep me busy for a while ;)
