Weta's Hobbit Ears (Frodo's)

I saw Weta's ad a few weeks ago for Hobbit ears. They offer Sam's (for larger ears) and Frodo's (for smaller ears). I decided to go with Frodo's.
Hobbit Ears - Frodo's (Smaller) Ears

From the time I ordered to the time I arrived it took about two weeks. I guess not too bad since it's coming from New Zealand. Customer support was amazing though (I never received my invoice and I had to e-mailed them - got a reply in less than an hour - very courteous and helpful!)

I have to say, I am VERY impressed with these ears. I can put them on right out of the package! Once I have my wig on, I don't think I will even need to blend them with make-up.

Here's a couple of picture straight out of the package - no make-up or spirit gum.

Those look killer Tony!

I think it would be best to still blend them a little, but WOW they do look great just stuck on there!

I almost forgot about this thread.

Yeah, I am going to go digging through my wife's makeup. I am thinking about using a bit of blush for more a pink tone to them. I my ears seem to be a bit more pink/red than the rest of my sink.

Once I get the wig fixed, I will post some pictures.

So, are you going to do Merry (Meriadoc Brandybuck)?
You already look so very much like Dominick Monaghan!

That's the plan. I REALLY hope this wig that I have turns out ok, but I am almost done with the costume (a friend of mine did all the sewing).

The coat color is 100% accurate - though the colors get washed out in the reference photos. I have a piece of the acutual frock that was used in the film as a reference. We had to use flannel instead of wool, but it turned out perfect IMO. The vest is my favorite part! I had to hand-dye the fabric.

It is cool to see that from small things to big things, Weta is doing a good job. They are quickly becoming my favorite licensee, although they truly have an unfair advantage in that their R&D compared to other licensees is almost nothing since they made all the originals!

I was quite shocked to see ears being produced by them. Their prices are a bit out of reach on most of their other products, but these were very well priced and very well made.

looking good Tony. I take it we will see this at Dragon Con?
Yep. I hope the wig turns out well though. I am going to get it cut tonight.
