Ditto!

I would also love to see a 1:1 baby prawn (Christopher's son) statue.

That would be SOOOOO cool!...:love

thanks!

I hope Weta holds off on the gun with the glowing apature until thet figure out a way to do it WITH the glowing apature.

I thought the scene where a character is being menaced by this gun and looking directly into the heat distortion ripple of the glowing barrel was a great moment in cinema Science Fiction weaponry intimidation.

Yeah. You're right. We should hope for another static piece of resin. What the hell was I thinking? :rolleyes

It is pretty cool. I'd buy it in a heartbeat.

Oh, amen, dude. That prop as seen in the film is SO non-static that a static version would be kind of disappointing.

Clutch was just kidding - Obesandjo is just obsessing over eating Wikus' arm in that scene.

Hey, which item is the teleporter?

Art, a heat gun's element is about 1/4 that diameter; I don't think it'd fly.

It does sound naff to start with but if you think about it for a bit-
If you use a blast of air, rigged up as a loop blowing inwards at the nozzle, a round string of yellowish LEDs to match, and then use a fabric, wrapped around this ring set up, with torn fabric,so much like:
v0104%20lg.jpg

Then the 'heat gun' effect could be achieved.
Would need testing though, but I bet it would give enough visual oomph to look cool, especially if the 'fan' had a good sound to it.
Just a thought.

You beat me to it, I thought the same thing when I saw the weapon for the first time and wondered about a replica! :)

Fabric is the best idea yet. Most of those fabric flames that I've seen are at least a few inches long tho - not sure it'd work with a really small-flame ring config, but worth a shot.

It looks like there are 8 plastic disks on the inside area. A flickering light source behind that would work. You could also add some EL wire or LED's inside the outer rim to add a glow.

I think that's much more reasonable and a great idea...I can't imagine them producing a run of 200 guns with anything too complicated

**as much as I would like an actual burning barrel opening!....:cool

Well, thankfully, for my wallet, the ARC gun was sold out before I even knew they were on sale :cry:lol. Decisions are much easier when the temptaion has been removed.

I'd love to see a range of affordable, half-scale guns - kind of like the MR .45 scale weapons.

Ah, but there's still conventions! Just hit the Weta booth at the conventions this year, according to the web site they saved a small part of the inventory for sales there. You aren't safe yet! (unless you never go to conventions I suppose...) :cool
