WETA: District 9 Guns

Zero interest.

Sorry to rehash past comments but this pee'd me off.

Really, why bother to post in this thread?

Most people are here for a bit of R&R after a long stressful day of work and toil.

Live and let live man, by all means form your opinions, but don't clutter the board with pointless negativity like that. It's not nice.

I ended up pre-ordering one too. With only 200 being made, I can't imagine them lasting too much longer... :cool

For me it's psychology. I have fooled myself into believing that all of my prop purchases are investments. :lol
Seriously, wouldn't it be nice to know that I can buy something I like and if I need to I can sell it later for a few bucks more? I normally would not have spent this much on a prop, so yes, I'm hoping it will appreciate. If it were limited to, say, 2,000 I wouldn't have bought it.

I could'nt agree more. This was a major factor in my decision to preorder the Arc gun. With all the interest in items from this film though....I really, really hope WETA does not decide to mass produce these limited run items instead.

I'm going the cheap route and building one from this:

Ordered the Arc Generator. Money is tight but you just can't pass up a piece from the original company... not at that price!

No offense to those guys and thier 'investments' but I would love a 'second chance' later down the road. The size of the run should not influence your decision to buy it, all that tells me is you want to flip it for a higher price once they're sold out. That's cool and all but extremely selfish twords people who missed out the first time and a second chance would be like a blessing from heaven.

So who is going to be the first to put all the seriously heavy washes on their gun like we see in the movie? I know they are coming weathered, but I can't imagine them doing it as well as the ones from the movie.

Well, they do say 'alien gunk oozing from every seam'. I trust it'll be real alien gunk, really oozing. If not, time to crack open the methocel and food colouring!

I'd like to think mine will be sound investments too, but only in case I'm ever forced to sell them, not because I *plan* to. Ultimately, I agree with Spike - I'm buying these because dear God do I want them. :)

I hate you. Over a hundred to Australia, and we're next door. Boo.

Man, thats odd. Mine was $24 shipped to Atlanta. the thing is 40" long, I figured it would be way more than that.

On the 200 or more issue, I would be miffed if they turned around and said "hey, we've actually got more to sell" because an increase in the run should mean a decrease in price.
