for any buyers still waiting to be charged for a AG and want to pre-order a AR and still have the weta dollars applied.(you get them once you have paid) you can do this if you let weta know. this should save you some cash. i didn't want to wait to get my AG dollars and the AR sell out on me.

customer services told me they can manually put a note in with my AR order to include any weta dollars that i will have erned from the AG pre-order.

looks like uk customers should get there AG guns at the very end of august.

I like the paint mods on the forward bottom part of the gun. It matches one of the concept art pics.
What orange did you use? It looks like a perfect match!

I don't understand why some guys are messing with their Arc Gun....I think it looks great just the way it is and am very happy with it. I also feel that adding more weathering to it devalues it and it is no longer an original Weta Collectible. Now of course a guy can do whatever he wants with his property. I just feel they should be admired as is and left alone.

BTW....I found one being sold on Evilbay for crazy money. It will be interesting if he gets almost double what he paid. I like where he says "They reserved a few units for the San Diego comic-con which also sold out the first few minutes of the show"........I was there......it sold out in just about 2 hours after opening on preview night.

Thanks Tim, I went for the look of the scene where after Wikus and Chirs entered the MNU building to the room where they kept the canister(not before, Wikus was holding another AG prop before the entry, that one was painted like the one at Weta Cave).

I used the Tamiya orange(X-6) mixed with a tiny of black(XF-1).

I honestly don't see any "fun" in what I consider ruining a $500 prop. Your welcome to mess with anything you own. Its just my opinion that if I want this prop to hold its value you don't change it or "mess" with it. I for one wouldn't want to purchase someones Arc Gun thats been altered from the original Weta prop collectible. Again its only my opinion and anyone can do what they want with their Arc Gun.....mine I'm leaving alone.

Good grief, I plan to repaint my gas projector completely. I want the mostly-orange version. I'm gonna be straightening up a lot of roughly masked edges on my Arc, too.

How will that be ruining it, exactly? It's not like the Chinese factory painters are veritable gods of the art and I'm a child with a crayon. Are the rough edges official rough edges?

Edit: I'm assuming what I'm seeing in peoples pics ARE wobbly paint edges, there seem to be a few, which I kinda expected.
