WETA: District 9 Guns

So, looking at those Comic Con pics I get the impression the paintjob on Christopher Johnson and Son Sculpt is not the true to the promotional pics. It could be the flash....

The Exo Suit looks incredible....as do the guns.
 
None taken, I think you're right, the paintwork matches the promotional pics even down to where paint has bled or brushed excess areas. It must just be the flash making the colouration so garish.

Yes. I wonder why the Gas Projector got no love? (Aside from the somewhat unfortunate name.) I'm really looking forward to seeing mine but haven't heard when it's going to ship other than Q3.

HEY, has anyone here picked up an AG from Weta at Comicon?
 
I think the reason the Gas Projector didn't get as many sales is simply because it isn't as prominently featured as the other two guns. It will REALLY be interesting to see how future guns will sell if any are made... like the little gun Wikus blows away the Nigerians with.

it was clearly a marketing gaff, i had to watch the movie again to see if it was actually in the film. i can't think of a single worst choice of gun to pick:unsure :confused:wacko

the AG sold out in what seemed like days, i got the feeling people were just buying it (GP) because it was the only other one available, or to sell on and try and make money ~(which is getting far too common these days)

if you were buying it to put in your collection well then good luck to you. don't let the dust build up too much on it. i dunno maybe you could hang some clothes on it or something :confused

now they seem to be back on track with what we actually want with the AS

When I ordered the Assault Rifle, I had $75 WD to apply towards the purchase. I'm pretty sure the WD came from my Arc Generator purchase.

Pft, whatever, I still think it's cool. It is for my collection, and will be kept with all my other D9 weapons (and I plan to get everything offered) - dumped in a pile in the corner, just like in the movie!
 
I had to fight with the wife just to hang mine on the wall. She says it is UGLY. For some reason, my five-year-old who loves science fiction type stuff, is deathly afraid of it. Thinks aliens will visit us or something. No chance in Hades I'll be able to get the new gun.

Just tell him that gun is there to protect you from the aliens...AND they've already been informed that you have one! :)
 
I ran into Grant from Mythbusters checking out the D9 guns. We had a brief geek out moment over them, cool guy :cool

What about a display like in this pic?

Not sure if this is from the film or the special features, someone posted it earlier.

It looks like it includes all three guns that WETA is producing...might be a cool way to display them?
 
I finally got my Arc Gun today!! I got it delivered the morning I left for SDCC.

Here's a size comparison to that tiny Star Wars laser thing. :lol

Buy it anyway.....if she divorces you over something this silly it might be a good thing. I don't seem to have these problems I keep seeing guys with wives or GFs have about their prop collections...my current significant other likes this stuff and could care less what I hang on any wall....in fact she hates to decorate and finds my stuff more interesting then some boring painting on the wall. My last GF was just the opposite..had no eye for decorating and hated anything in sci-fi or anitiques which I also collect...thats why she's my "LAST GF" :lol

Your only other recourse is to add an addition to your home ...a room just for you and lock her out.:love
 
Pre ordered the assault rifle, after seeing how good it looks in his hands I couldnt help it.Hopefully I can have enough for the mech aswell in 6 months time!
