Weekly Mythbusters Discussion Thread

Really? I can't help but notice the only thing he keeps his hands on is his phone.

I would never go as far as to wish harm on the guy, but it doesn't make sense having one of the least social people I've ever seen do interviews and podcasts. I really hope Tested takes Adam on full time and phases Norm into the background. Hopefully Jamie will feature more now as well?

Mythbusters going the way of the dodo truly saddens me in the deepest fibers of my being. I can hardly remember a time where Mythbusters wasn't a part of my daily TV habits. Adam going fulltime at Tested would be a phenomenonal silver lining however.

In the EW interview they both talk about what they're going to do next. Adam does say that he plans to work on Tested more, but I think that Jamie is going in a completely different (albeit really cool sounding) direction, with work for Office of Naval Research and robotics work, keeping M5 going etc.

He's usually very touchy with other people's things, like when they're discussing props or something.

Jamie isn't on enough most likely because he doesn't want to and because he is busy with other things. Think about how long it took for him to get his Tested tintype portrait taken. :lol And Norm is one of the founders of Tested. I don't think he'll ever be phased out into the background. haha!

Anyway, Mythbusters. It had a good run. It was the last thing I watched on tv. I'm really hoping the last season isn't bad.

I try to watch Tested stuff but Adam's really the only one in the videos i can tolerate, the other guys seem uninterested or rushed to do stuff.

I'll miss the show. The marathons were always a good day on the couch with the kids. We made it to the live show twice. I think the show did a lot to promote the STEM programs in the U.S. Not to mention EXPLOSIONS!!!!

I can see Adam doing another show. At the live show, his Q&A sessions were the best part. He's a big kid on TV, but I could see him doing speaking engagements for educational programs all over.

I was sad to hear the news today, but frankly, I'm surprised it lasted as long as it did. Mythbusters is/was one of my favorite shows, but over the last 6/7+ years, I think the show quality has been going down hill. As much as I liked Kari, Grant and Tory, the more they were on, the less the show was about busting myths and the more it was about finding excuses to blow things up. I think Adam alluded to this same thing in a Tested Podcast. The show got into a formulaic rut and only recently has been about more than explosions. I've appriciated the return to explaining the process and the science more in the recent episodes, and I'll truly miss the show.

This show was great (even if some feel it was to much about blowing stuff up). It was a show that made science cool. Here in the US we are falling very far behind on the world in math and science. This show, showed kids that science could be fun and cool if you were willing to learn.

my son, ten years old and autistic loves mythbusters. he watches it and does some reasearch for things on the computer now to find out how stuff works. he has a hard time to learn from books but seeing how stuff works makes it easier for him. big step up from jst playing a game.

thank you Adam and Jamie for getting him interested in science en technical stuff!

I wonder who will pick up the torch that Bill Nye (he was my Mythbuster equivalent way back when) carried and the Mythbusters carried after him in the promotion of science literacy.

Can someone please break Peter Capaldi's electric guitar? Once or twice, okay. Almost every episode? Forget it. The guy can play. So what? Stop showing off and make a decent episode for once.

I...ummm...was Capaldi playing his guitar on Mythbusters? 'Cuz...y'know...this thread is...uhhh...

:D

Maybe we'll see Adam here more often when production ends? That would be really great.

I'm going to have to pull something off my bucket list. Visiting M5 and standing in the blueprint room was always a goal of mine. I can't imagine Jamie would keep that room full of all that stuff from previous episodes without the show.

I feel like that is off in a studio somewhere.
