I think the reason they look brown is because the cards are copper under the "gold" plating, and they were just sanded all the way down. Possibly. EDIT: To clarify, I know for a fact that there's copper beneath the gold - I'm just not sure if it accounts for the brown color.

K Kaylee Well-Known Member Jul 22, 2007 #12 I think the brown is just a no-flash photo of the copper. The trick is to go far enough down to remove the gold, but no so far as to remove the design. Personally I didn't do so well on the ones I tried. bother.
