Warhammer 40000 Space Marines

Hi. That is my sculpture of the helmet. We went off a variety of things but hope to cast this in about a month or so.

Thanks to SAS for posting for me.

I usually focus on Vader stuff btw but this is fun too.

That Ultramarine pic is cool. Right on. Thanks for posting it. Warhammer 40k is a blast to play. I've enjoyed it for several years. Playing Ultramarines, Orks and my boy's Eldar.

One item on recreating GW stuff- a buddy started to do 1/6th scale Space Marines. Posted them on a well known 1/6th site. They turned out pretty darn cool. Initial pics were the Space Wolves. (think Nordic Space Marines)

They were praised and lots wanted some...however...
Within a few days, he got hit w/ a "C&D" by GW.

End of that project... :confused

They sound cool. Do you have any pics of your friend's work?

I've started most of the Warhammer threads on this forum and they've pretty much died a death within days, however, I'm really excited to see this one go into 2 pages.. Let's get this project going people..

Sorry for the late reply, been trying to get my costume done for an event the first part of October.

Let me look around and see if I've got some pics. He did up a couple as Space Wolves, they looked really darn cool. If I don't have any of the pics, I have one of the helmets here.
Feel free to PM me if I take too long... :confused :D

take care,

Nice hell gun so far. Once again I know why I think I like the 40K universe so much, Every thing is on the large size so it looks more intimidating.

Darth Vader anyone -Im sure the sims arent lost

actually ....Optimus Vader

Still looking sharp. I like the paint job on the armor. Dont forget you need to have at least a skull or two on the armor or another imperial double egale.

Got to love that surplus police riot armour. Looks like you got the leg and forearm stuff but is that shoulder sections I see too ?

There's an eagle on the pack, rifle and breastplate & might put another on the shoulder - gonna have some purity seals here and there too.

Yup its police armour, shin/knee, thigh & forarm/elbow (not bad for £15.). The shoulders are modded Scout armour. Also got ST handplates.

Yeah it was the thigh sections I didnt recognise. Ive got the other parts as well as the older style upper chest armour.

Nice use to put them to really.

Games Day was yesterday (Sunday) and I had a great time. Very few people go in costume as its not really that sort of event but I got there early and patrolled the queues etc. and was photo'd like, a gazillion times and posed 'executing' people and all sorts. I can see how you ST trooper guys enjoy it and why you all do it.
Plus having a ST voice unit with Stat burst was ace, people going "cool Costume" and me replying with that voice, it doubled the whoa factor.

Unfortuanately I don't have any pics at the event myself. (No camera)

Looking awesome..

So, are any spacemarine-plans taking form?

I´d make a Tau outfit cause i really like the style they have. (they got strange feet tho)

keep it up

I put together a quick IG armor for Halloween but never got around to the accessories. I am starting to work on a Tau suit soon, trying to decide the best way to make the pieces without a body cast. The helmet will be difficult to see out of I am think and I need to see a doctor about my feet. Once I get something done I will post it here. Anyone in the Baltimore area with a vacuum former could be very helpful on this.

I'm pretty sure i'm gonna be doing a Tau suit for the UK games day. I did an IG suit for last year and really enjoyed it.
However i'm going to do it as a Human Tau Auxillery, which solves the problem of weird feet shapes but you can still have the armour/weapons-helmet etc.
As to the helmet i'm not sure how to get that complex shape or what to make it out of so it looks good and smooth. Regards seeing out of it, the square part on the front with the lenses etc. I will make clear so I can see out of it but have some form of tinting material so people can't see in.
