Good stuff, another great vid, cheers STEALTH

Re: IRON PATRIOT Costume TUTORIAL Part 6A -Cardboard Building (HELMET) Page 6

All your costumes are great it will be a shame for you to stop making foam costumes but it will be interesting for you to do moulding and sculpting
I've just made my first helmet but I'm making it again the cardboard method because it is easier ImageUploadedByTapatalk1375262756.632916.jpg
Proud of it but it isn't great it needs thicker card stock

Re: IRON PATRIOT Costume TUTORIAL Part 6A -Cardboard Building (HELMET) Page 6

There are some other things I'm going to mention but I'll show you once I get started, I'm trying to find a good format to explain while doing the filling/sanding outside and filming at the Same time.

I think mybe I'll just film myself and then do commentary over.

just a tip...you really have to study the pep 3d model.just because it says to do a fold you don't have to do it in some spot like the faceplate ...like stealth said in one of his videos...you have to go back and forth.....just saying..good luck

Re: IRON PATRIOT Costume TUTORIAL Part 5B -Cardboard Building (HELMET) Page 5

hahah you definitely don't need any of my tips man. I'm covering a basic but effective approach to Sanding/filling etc

Any tips you or anyone can add will be appreciated and will be added to this as I go.

Cool
I could take some pics of my tools, and take some clips of how i do, but ill send it to you
I dont know how to edit videos

Re: IRON PATRIOT Costume TUTORIAL Part 6A -Cardboard Building (HELMET) Page 6

ok sure man, I'd appreciate it and let people know where they came from. I just don't want to miss anything.

Re: IRON PATRIOT Costume TUTORIAL Part 6A -Cardboard Building (HELMET) Page 6

I was watching your iron patriot card stock helmet and what is that green tape that you add inside

Re: IRON PATRIOT Costume TUTORIAL Part 6A -Cardboard Building (HELMET) Page 6

Just green tape. I knew half way that it wasn't going to fit me so I just taped the rest together. I could have just stopped but I wanted to finish the helmet somewhat to show it didn't fit overall.

Don't worry too much about it

Re: IRON PATRIOT Costume TUTORIAL Part 6A -Cardboard Building (HELMET) Page 6

I am legit jealous at how fast you're able to crank out parts. Maybe I'm too OCD but I move at a snail's pace compared to you!

Re: IRON PATRIOT Costume TUTORIAL Part 6A -Cardboard Building (HELMET) Page 6

Really?
Planning, filming , editing, uploading etc is really slowing it down for me.
So I guess this Tutorial/Vlog is keeping you all on my Tutorial pace instead of my
"Hey guys look, I started this costume yesterday and I'm painting it tomorrow" Pace... hehe

Re: IRON PATRIOT Costume TUTORIAL Part 6A -Cardboard Building (HELMET) Page 6

Xrobots on YouTube made moulds of his mark6 armour and made a solid cast
And now he is 3d printing parts as well

Re: IRON PATRIOT Costume TUTORIAL Part 6A -Cardboard Building (HELMET) Page 6

haha Maybe that's it then, I've seen your other stuff and it seems to just fly by. I work 40 hours a week and try to put in at least 3 or 4 hours a day after work, but in reality that's only like 1 part a day at most.

Re: IRON PATRIOT Costume TUTORIAL Part 6A -Cardboard Building (HELMET) Page 6

I work 45 hours a week. :ninja

k I'll stop being a smart ass. Don't worry. We're all gonna get this done. Got some cool stuff to share for the helmet once it's done.

Re: IRON PATRIOT Costume TUTORIAL Part 6A -Cardboard Building (HELMET) Page 6

Hmm, I've been wondering, is it still important to use fiberglass cloth on the interior to strengthen the helmet if you are just going to have it as a display?

Re: IRON PATRIOT Costume TUTORIAL Part 6A -Cardboard Building (HELMET) Page 6

I'd just use it to keep the structural integrity of the helmet solid when at the body filler stage.
You're going to be applying pressure to the surface when sanding. It's going to be a lot of sanding. you don't want to crack it. Keep that in mind

Hi Stealth, I joined the party late but I am trying to follow your video tutorials. I managed to build the cardboard helmet like you did. It took me about two weeks to do. Finding the spare is what delays most of us I am sure. Thank you for the tutorials. I would not have attempted the helmet otherwise. Here are some pics of them...

Definitely not late to this Party man.

I love how you used those extra pieces from the template to divide the sections on the helmet.
GREAT JOB!

I was aware of those but left them out.
I chose to not do it that way, so I could demonstrate Detailing with hand tools later, in the event when they usually
aren't available on files.

but good on you for doing it that way... jerk....I mean uhh..nice helmet...whatever

:p
