Re: WAR MACHINE - Race to Halloween 2012 - UPDATE- Page 4- OCT. 6. 2012

Looking good Stealth, that helmet build is superb. This guy is gonna look MEAN!

You know what would be really cool though. Not exactly screen accurate, but a way to switch the eyes and unibeam from white, to red light on command :D

Re: WAR MACHINE - Race to Halloween 2012 - UPDATE- Page 4- OCT. 6. 2012

There is a way to do that. You basically have a mixed array of LED's in a housing. Red and white. Have them connected to an on off on dpdt switch. It's pretty simple. One position for red, the other on position for white.

Hope that makes sense. I actually planned on doing this for mine.
I know it's not accurate to have it red, but it's kinda cool to have red eyes and red reactor.

Re: WAR MACHINE - Race to Halloween 2012 - UPDATE- Page 4- OCT. 6. 2012

Accuracy doesnt matter if your happy with it, i will usethe cave reactor on mine, its not the one warmachine use but its the one i like most

Re: WAR MACHINE - Race to Halloween 2012 - UPDATE- Page 4- OCT. 6. 2012

Cave reactor has the most character to me. I like it.

Really enjoying your tutorials along with the build. Great job!

Re: WAR MACHINE - Race to Halloween 2012 - UPDATE- Page 4- OCT. 6. 2012

Stef, I was thinking that you should build something like this to attach your mini-gun instead of attaching it on the back of that torso. Cause even if you strengthen the back from sassing, the weight will push down on that torso. So probably attaching the mini-gun to your body like what I drew there will make the gun and the torso more stable. So it's pretty much building something like a backbrace with a tube where you can attach the mini-gun in.

Hey man,

I know, you're so right. I honestly don't think I'm going to do it the way I planned. I have a friend who is also building a War Machine and he didn't need to do anything to the torso. You're right, it will end up just pushing down and throwing everything off.
He did like a backpack kind of thing. I will use this drawing to figure it out.

I appreciate the advice, it will help a lot.
Thanks buddy. :thumbsup

Re: WAR MACHINE - Race to Halloween 2012 - UPDATE- Page 4- OCT. 6. 2012

got a bit of work done on the helmet.

Cleaning up all the lines on the sides and the ear pieces before I cut off the faceplate to clean the seams on those areas.

Re: WAR MACHINE - Race to Halloween 2012 - UPDATE- Page 4- OCT. 6. 2012

What is that small mold you have there? Lol

Re: WAR MACHINE - Race to Halloween 2012 - UPDATE- Page 4- OCT. 6. 2012

it's for the ear piece on my IM helmet. I actually ended up making a new one and not using my old one. I didn't want to make it twice, so I molded and casted 2 news ones to stick on there.

it's the weather, tough to work now as it's getting colder. I have only this time right now before work to paint and the window is small.

I seal with white glue prior to using plastidip, never had a problem, did you seal?

really? that's strange. It shouldn't be bubbling up like that.

I just do 2 coats. 1st coat to soak in and the second to create the paintable seal.
