War machine 1st attempt

Thanks electraflier :) I will be asking for help once I get into the throw of things, I've been thinking a lot about this since I happened across these forums ordered myself a printer (not owned one in ten years o.0) I've got an old tamiya truck in the attic i plan to use things like that to motorize parts and stuff......well hoping so anyways never been great with electrics but I'm good with experience from working on car mechanics/bodywork, models and art.
I'll create my own thread once i get started and stop stealing don's sorry don!

I know man, lol
But when i first started i said to myself " im gonna try to do the helmet, if i cant do the helmet, then i wont do this suit"
It was just a challenge for myself
If i was to recomend a piece for a noob i would say the shoulders
Hand are easier than they appear, the real challenge is to pep them :s

I agree with Don here.. Personally, I did over 5 War Machine Helmets already.. 3 of them did not fit me, 2 fit, but I wasnt happy with the symmetry of it so I scrapped it, moved on to the torso and arms now:)

So it begins.....resin...

It's looking Great Don can't wait to see it finished :)

I've just started mine, can't believe how much patience everyone has, Just spent the best part of 3 hours cutting out the pieces to the chest and still only about half way through haha.
Going to start again tomorrow, or buy a second pair of scissors and get the kids to help.

Yes the cutting is time consuming. I recommend gettingan xacto blade it cuts in fine places and easier to cut than scissors...

Your an expensive man to please don =P just been out bought some craft knives/ruler/scissors/cutting board and a hot glue gun lol it'll be worth it in the end =)

Lol...that's good..that's the cheap part...lol wait till you get to resin..hahahaha...well it will be worth it at the end good luck.

Starting a new one? should try get the first one finished too! =) nothing like a spare suit incase you need time to spotfix your main one!

I learned that when i was doing war machine....I did it also because it warped when i put my first coat of resin.good thing i caught it on time..

Laellee have you tried yours on? Did it fit?

Mine fit well, but as you probably noticed the waist comes out pretty narrow. I actually tried my lower torso on when it was still just cardstock (pain in the *****), and it fit (but not a lot of extra room). I'd have been in trouble if I wasn't a skinny guy. Even so, after fiberglassing I couldn't put any real loose clothing on underneath, or it bunched up and got caught against the fiberglass edges inside. I think I'd like to build that section again, but install a fabric 'tube' liner that holds it all together. It'd be easier to get into, and the pieces would be able to move independently a little bit at least. Foam rubber would be great too I guess, but I don't like my stuff looking flexible.

I'm skinny and it can barely fit..the same with you with tight stuff..i might modify it i don't want to waste more fiberglass..maybe adding an inch or two..maybe it needs to be scaled just a bit bigger but enough to fit inside upper....thanks laellee
