WandaVision

I think there's 2 separate issues that folks are confusing. We're led to believe that there's going to be a 'Luke Skywalker' level cameo at some point, but that does NOT mean it's the aerospace engineer. There's nothing to make us think that he was anyone other than just another character until people speculated that it could be RR or VVD.

In unrelated news, YT channel Everything Always has spotted that one of the names in the Director's medical files was the civilian name for Wraith. He was a mutant that was part of WEAPON X alongside Wolverine & Sabertooth, & was played by will.i.am in X-MEN ORIGINS: WOLVERINE.

The problem is they're using it as a big deal so to speak. They keep referring to it, but never tossing out a name - ever. If it wasn't someone that people there'd be no real point in holding the name back. If it was a Blue Marvel, even those in the know would be 'pfft, that's it?' more or less. That vast majority (99% of the viewing audience) likely wouldn't know who that is. I don't.

You don't hold back a reveal for a name that hardly anyone knows...
Looks like we posted at almost the same time, but I 100% agree with you.

The way they’ve teased this, if it ends up being Blue Marvel it may as well just be Bob the Engineer...some random person.

I’m absolutely expecting a pretty big cameo during the final episode. But I also think it’s reasonable to believe the engineer could be an important “named” character due to how often he’s been mentioned/teased.

Being that this is supposed to directly link up to "Multiverse of Madness", I'm going to say it's safe to assume the cameo is Dr. Strange. Bettany also said he got to work with someone he always wanted to work with. (Vision was dead before Strange came in, so that kinda checks out).

I'd like to think Ian McKellan would come through as Magneto...but that doesn't sync to this version of Quicksilver, it would have to be Fassbender. (Who has been in talks with Feige, evidently.)

Fassbender is in talks (most say they’ve made a deal but haven’t publicly confirmed it) to play Victor Von Doom.

It's weird that they would get him to do that with the multiverse now in play...even if Evans played Johnny and then Cap.

Would be way cooler if he was coming back as Magneto...most of the "news" sites that have covered that possible leak are not very credit worthy. IE: We Got This Covered.

The films he played Magneto in were set in the 60s/70s. In Dark Phoenix, which was set in the 90s, he was supposed to be in his mid-60s.

Having him play Magneto in the current time would be odd.

Aside from that, the FOX timeline for X-Men films is a mess. It doesn’t at all fit with the relatively tight storytelling we’ve seen in the MCU.

I’d be willing to bet that they’d be completely okay leaving that entire X-Men franchise in the past and starting over.

***EDIT***

I just checked. Erik Lensherr was born in 1930. That would make him 90+ in the current MCU.

We can’t even try to suggest that “Magneto doesn’t age like normal people” when we’ve already seen an aged Magneto played by McKellan that was set in 2005-ish.

So yeah...Fassbender just doesn’t work for Magneto in the MCU given the timeline we’ve been shown in the FOX films.

Unless none of that matters.

I'm all for leaving the FoX-Men behind and starting from scratch with mutants in the MCU. It's enough that Marvel has the film rights back for those characters.

The exception being Deadpool of course. Glad they're keeping Ryan Reynolds in that role.

BY ODIN'S BEARD! WHAT. AN. EPISODE!!
I just this second finished watching episode 7 and it was an absolute belter.
I know others have said that we shouldn't be concerned with posting spoilers as this is an open discussion thread and spoilers are implied.
However I won't openly say anything until later in the day after other parts of the world have woken up and had a chance to watch.
I'm lucky being in the UK and having the day off to watch it in the morning before spoilers hit the internet and ruin the fun of watching this series.

The ONLY thing I will say is, don't turn off after the initial end credits. I only say that as you may miss something. ;)

My thoughts about one scene:
I had goose bumps when Monica broke through the barrier and transformed into Photon.

Some interesting reveals today, and yet if kinda felt like a filler episode for me. Well maybe not a filler, but it’s clearly a setup episode for something bigger. On it’s own it wasn’t very thrilling.

A bit of context in case everyone isn't familiar with all the comics jargon concerning the word 'NEXUS'.

Wanda in the comics is referred to as a Nexus Entity, which simply means that she is the exact same person in every version off reality. No matter what world, what time, what reality, Wanda Maximoff is the exact same.

I still think Wanda pulled Peter through the Nexus and Agatha seized the opportunity to possess him. He's still wearing his colors in the post credits scene. Either Agatha is too busy with Wanda at the moment and he was able to snap out of it (being the only other actual super human individual there besides Monica), or Vision will get to him too. If Disney were to go meta with this it would be a giant lost cause and make no sense to open up to the Multiverse of Madness. I also think if he were bad, we would have seen him knock Monica over the head and then cut the scene.

A few things:

-Agatha's house is literally the Bewitched house.
-Scratchy is an amalgamation of her son from the comics, Nicolas Scratch and her shapeshifting black cat
-One of the circus tents was "Fool the Guesser"...another Fourth Wall break
-The book in the basement appears to be the Darkhold
-The licence plate shown during the Office-style opening shows the number 122822 – which is S.H.I.E.L.D.’s designation for the planetary event known as “The Pulse” in the video game universe featuring Reed Richards.

I still think the people in the commercials are her parents and that Dottie could be Clea?? There's a theory going around that some of the other women at the 60's pool meeting are also witches, and that Agatha is their coven leader. Clea is a sorceress, so it lines up with meeting Doctor Strange.

Those were technically set in the 80's, hence the clothing and "Sweet Dreams", as well as Jubilee. Peter was pulled in during the 80's episode...

They can retcon the earlier X-men, saying that they were in the future, to understand the age-up of Prof. X and Magneto.

Paul Bettany just came out again and said he doesn't know why people keep thinking the person he's refering to is Doctor Strange, but that it is an "actor I've wanted to work with my whole life."

...McKellan or Stewart. Doesn't appear that he's worked with either.

PS: Who the hell was talking back to her in the fourth wall scene towards the end?? "You aren't supposed to talk..."
