WandaVision

10 minutes into the last episode Wanda is testing Pietro when her son comes along to steal him away.

Pietro: "How about your uncle Peatie maximize your candy acquisition?"
Tommy: "Yeah, kickass!"
Pietro: "I feel the need ..."
Tommy: "... for speed!"
Pietro and the kids zip off together.

Wanda stands there alone for a second and says to herself, "Kick-ass."

Was that a "shout-out" to Aaron Taylor-Johnson?

I don’t think this is confirmed. From what I’ve read this is based on him talking about episode length before the show started, half hour episodes vs hour long episodes.

You are correct. After checking, it is in fact not confirmed, good catch. But, a boy can dream....

Maybe this connection was already made in a prior episode, but I just noticed on the SWORD tabletop map graphic that the borders of the town form a hexagon, explaining the frequent occurrence of that shape in the TV opens, etc.

Darcy mentioned that in episode 5, when she said she coined the term "hex" and that it was catching on, to which Jimmy just silently and subtly shook his head.

So Monica and Jimmy are going to meet her guy, any chance it’s this guy? I mean, he certainly knows a lot about space.

What I cannot place right now is what the commercial with the kid who starved to death on an island have to do with the overall theme of the show?

Doesn’t the shark say something to the effect of
It “being for survivors”? A lot of this psychological episode that Wanda is going through has to do with survival, as well as survivors guilt. It was also a great 90s commercial like the one BRISK iced tea used to have

So, the product is called yo-magic and the kid is unable to eat it or even open the packaging. As a result, he doesn't survive. I think it has something to do with what's going on in Westview. People who can't use magic don't survive there. A lot of the people in this town are dead or dying.

The child is alone, on an island and is given the only thing he needs to survive. I took that as Wanda on her own island (Westview) and given all she wants (Vision, family) but it’s not real. And while that was given to her, someone is “feasting” on her magic (hence: feast on yo-magic). So the shark represents someone giving her something, for a price. Just my thoughts

I think that is what is happening. Someone is giving her what she wants while eating or using jer powers.

I read that John Krasinski has been (unofficially) cast as Reed Richards.

We also know that Disney officially announced Fantastic Four in December.

After having time to look at the angles, I’m pretty sure Monica is referring to Reed Richards.

Someone's feeling salty about something that has absolutely no actual impact on them...
Showing my age but i do remember the old 70,s series wandavision appears to be based on (bewitched) i think , yes that was absolute bs too and had no witch effect or impact as you say on me either thats for dalm sure.

Um... It's not based on bewitched. I'm not sure where you go that... unless you assumed and haven't actually watched the show. It's been drawing on the motif of a LOT of sitcoms from the 1950's to the 2000's with the most recent "Malcolm in the Middle" riff.

But, sure... continue to feel some sort of way about it.

I watched the trailer and bewitched jumped out, thats all i,m saying, the setting, feeling, home stuff etc.

Malcolm and the middle i have heard of but that must be a load of crap too, american dreary tv..

Dont get me wrong i like the actors in wandavision, just not certain of the concept.

I know it's a novel concept, but maybe you could try watching it and see if it appeals to you? Or you can continue to assume, I guess, if that works for you. I'm just not sure why you felt compelled to come comment on this show then, instead of maybe finding something you DO enjoy?

Could this have a connection to the Hydra refence in the watch advert?

It’s certainly possible, but I think all the commercials are more a visual representation of different traumas she has suffered. For me, I saw the watch just her wanting more time. More time with Vision, her brother, her family, Westview, etc.
