WandaVision

Something new and exciting to start 2021.
I am disappointed it wont be on over Christmas and that we have had no new MCU films or series this year, but it is hardly a surprise.
Excelsior!

I wish WandaVision would do an episode of Full House. CGI them into scenes with her older sisters while they were still younger than her.

only a couple more days to the premiere, i thought thered be a bit more chatter here,
i have been reserving excitement, since (Cough, "picard")
but everytime i see a trailer come on, i seem to get that cool rush, feeling
is anyone else onboard or is it just me?

Yes, I’m really looking forward to this. I’m hearing rumors of the introduction to Marvels Multiverse moving forward.

I’m intrigued...and the first trailer was interesting.

But I have to admit...Vision is BY FAR my least favorite MCU character, so I’m not really sure how much I’ll enjoy it.

I have absolutely no idea who or what Vision is. Not a fan of Marvel at all and even though my gut instinct is to stay extremely far away from this, I'm going to give it a fair shot. Always open to good surprises. Also going in completely blind.

This is not how I would recommend jumping into the Marvel pool.
At a minimum I would suggest seeing Age of Ultron, Civil War, Infinity War and Endgame. But hey, you do you.

WandaVision was set to be my highlight of 2020 after the pandemic closed the cinemas and Black Widow was put into scheduling limbo.
Then the series was pushed to 2021, but it hasn't dampened my excitement, if anything it was a smart move to start 2021 with what looks to be a very bold, creative and exciting start to phase 4 of the MCU.
Friday can't come quick enough.
My girlfriend and I have it planned out, it will be like a Marvel movie premiere at the cinema, get in some good snacks, curtains closed, phones off and get absorbed into the 2 first episodes of new MCU greatness.
I have every confidence in Feige and co. to deliver again. They have a clear passion for the material and it shows.

This Friday and every Friday for the next 8 weeks, you can make mine Marvel.
Enjoy the show everyone!

Good to know, not really planning on doing a deep dive. I'm told that WandaVision is supposed to be very different than the usual Marvel fare hence my interest in it. That's literally all I know and want to know about it before watching.

It's good that you're open to trying it.
If they do a cold open and dont do a recap of events from previous films, then you'll have a week to get up to speed before the next episode as Disney+ has Age of Ultron, Infinity War and Endgame there as part of the subscription.
Enjoy.

Jinx, I'm assuming you have Disney+. If so, there's a recap series that started last week called MARVEL LEGENDS, & the first 2 episodes are about Wanda & Vision. Each are only a few minutes long & will give you everything you need to know to go into the show 'blind' yet 'informed'. Really hoping that'll help.

Indeed I do. Thank you. :)

In case others haven't heard this, since the show will have a sitcom vibe to it, it'll include some 'commercials' to complete that feeling.

The powers that be have strongly suggested that viewers pay close attention to those.;)

I haven't read much about this show, but what is the premise for why they are stuck in what looks like various sitcoms? Is it some kind of simulation or a dream?

I've kept myself as spoiler free as I could, so this is NOT show specific, but in the comics, Wanda has reality-warping powers.

She's gone so far as to wipe all mutants out of existence, just by saying "No more mutants", while having a mental breakdown during a time of loss.

From that, I'm guessing an alternate reality that'll have huge implications on the MCU going forward. I have also read that in the MCU, Wanda could have the powers of all the Infinity Stones combined.

This really interests me. I wonder if they’ll be completely “fake” commercials, or if they’ll be for real products but made only for the show?

I think they'll be fake in-universe products and commercials. Maybe something like the Hunka Hulka Burning Fudge and Stark Raving Hazelnuts Ben and Jerry's flavors.
