Wall Mount for the Falcon

Toying with the idea of a machined 'Beefy' wall mount for the MR Falcon.

I've got a Planet Hollywood style, wall mount in mind.

The machine shop has room for the job this fall.

Thoughts?

Note: Karl, PM me.

I’m thinking I would like to see this type of mount.
I’m unfamiliar with the display at Planet Hollywood.

No display at Planet Hollywood in particular. Just using it as a frame of reference. Many of studio scale models are rather 'Pole mounted'

I'm thinking about an 'L' shape mount with wall bracket.

Working it out, now.

Let's see if there's any interest first...time is short right now.

Kinda just fishin' for thoughts on the subject.

I just saw one at Sears tonight that would be perfect. It was a positionable wall mount HDTV heavy duty bracket. It has to be mounted into a wall stud but it won't budge and you can move the falcon around. You'll just have to figure out an adapter for the MR size post. That should be as easy as choosing the right diameter steel tubing etc....

Dave :)

Um, Perhaps I should've been a little more specific.

I'm not looking for things I can gut to make a wall mount.

I'm suggesting I may have a few machined...

I'm curious if there is any general interest outside of my own.

Were you thinking about having the ability to rotate the Falcon 360 degrees on the mount? If it's possible that is something that I would be interested in.

The other question would be how you are thinking about handling the power connection and cable (if at all)?

Interested and motivated, as I really dislike the mirror base and will have to replace it eventually. I'd like to get it off the floor, so as to free up more space. But, I'd really like to maintain power to the Falcon. I don't turn it on often, but like to know that I can...

Hard hats for visitors standing underneath it?

Gene

LOLOLOLOLOL... oh how true that would be! ;)

I am intrigued on the armature that may be used in this process. I can't wait to see if it actually gets created! I think it would be most excellent!

Nevermind.

I'd rather not have to wade through every other smart-ass post to get something constructive done, here.

Sorry to those who were interested.

Leave your sense of humor at the door...? :rolleyes TWO out of 13 posts offered in fun (not "smart-ass!)...!?

Come on Rylo, ease up there, hoss! Hypersensitivity and the RPF aren't always the best bedfellows.

Agreed. Don't get discouraged. These comments are not so much "smart ass" as they are to have fun with what we all hope CAN be done. And you are the one that may make it happen! :D

I believe we are all wishing to really see it done. I know I am! ;) :D It is an intriging topic indeed! :) And hopes are high! :D

As I stated before, the armature used (created or purchsed), and it's strength, is of great interest to me. :love
