Hello All!
Wanted to share this incredible honor to setup and display my 5' Falcon Replica at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures as part of a two month long exhibit with the Original restored Dykstraflex and a beautiful X-Wing replica.
This exhibit will be on display until July 8 (Spielberg Family Gallery)

A huge shoutout to Gene Kozicki for making this happen (he also happens to be the builder of the gorgeous Xwing on display!)
Gene will also be doing live demonstrations of the motion controlled Xwing display, along with a presentation of the Dykstraflex and it moving down the track towards the Falcon. It's a great presentation, and well worth the visit if you are in the Hollywood area.

I also want to give a huge thanks to Andre Bustanoby and Rob McFarlane for their help unloading and setting up, Les Berstien for his delicate touch operating the Dykstraflex, and the many members of the Academy Museum for their support!

So with that, here's a bunch of pics of the exhibit.

Cheers!
-Sean

The well deserved recompense of a tremendous workmanship and dedication Sean.:cool:(y)(y):love::notworthy::notworthy::notworthy::notworthy: You were also lucky to have that group of pros helping setting up the whole display:cool::cool::cool::cool:

First you get to have it displayed with a bunch of the ILM guys there a few years ago....and now this. Talk about an honor overload....lol.
How awesome and well deserved.

You certainly earned all the credit received with such fantastic work. Sharing this accomplishment by such displays over the years is no small effort and the generosity is greatly appreciated.

You all are Awesome!!! Thanks to all for the kind comments and feedback!!

To experience a very small glimmer of what it was like to be at ILM while the camera moved around the Falcon is just humbling, amazing and makes me feel 10 years old again!

It’s great being able to share this with all the talented members here!
Thanks
Sean

Thanks SWGeek!!!

Well - what an incredible final weekend!!!

Not only did Gene Kozicki pull off a fantastic set of demos, legends John Dykstra, Richard Edlund, Al Miller, Jonathan Erland, Doug Smith and John Knoll all came for the final day. It was amazing. So honored to be a part of this and all the support RPF’s gave me during building of the Falcon!

Here’s a few pics of the fun!

Yeah, just no words for how amazing this was! The Dystraflex was of course the focus and star of the show, but Sean's Falcon got a LOT of attention. And well-deserved very complimentary words from the ILM guys. So fun to see! CONGRATS Sean - so glad you got to bask in that glow...

Sean, have you ever taken the Falcon to any Conventions, besides this outing and that other one from a few years back?
I know California has Comic Con, Orlando has MegaCon, and plenty other places have Cons. I could imagine its a lot of work to move around and travel, but wondering anyways.
Living here close to Boise Idaho, they have Gem Con in the spring. While smaller than the others, went last year and was still bigger than I expected. Something like that would definitely be awesome to see the Falcon at, if it were to all work out.
I'd imagine the event coordinators wouldn't turn something like that down.

THANKS Dan!!! It was so great to have you come out and hang for the day and enjoy it!!!

JediM- I do occasionally take my models to shows/cons. It’s all about timing with my real job and expenses being covered.

And yes - it’s an extreme amount of work, but fun to share.

I’ve always offered to RPFrs, if you are ever in the Denver area, you are welcome to visit the replicas. ;)
