Interest Veracity Labs - THE V2 FX Build (DIY Kit)

Ok, I have photos of the parts- TXQ will ship them to me so I can caliper and verify position/ fit/ finish and provide feedback for adjusting the run. As far as I can tell there will be three small adjustments but I will know for sure when they arrive.

The other parts look good per the design- and the pommel is (otherwise) much improved since tuesday’s update.

Emitter- will just need them to finish the face radially on the lathe (not rough mill finish)
The grub screw locations have been left (no countersink) which is now correct.

Body looks good- no notes until they arrive.

Pommel caps look good
The pommel machining itself looks good but they need to end mill (flat) the marks, which should help the punch depth and crispness

They finally got the d ring asymmetry and plunge to our spec.
Very happy with that- the wonkiness matches the reference

The samples are (have been) in route to me to check in hand- though Im not sure of the exact date it seems like they are stateside now.
Ill volunteer that my wife and I just had our first baby born on Friday- so if there is any delay reviewing parts for feedback that will probably only be because of the new interloper.

Ill be excited to get to it as soon as possible though. I do have some paternity leave so I should have some down time

Congratulations!!! What exciting news.

Thanks for the most recent updates. Enjoy this time with your family!

I got the parts in on Friday- I've been reviewing them and giving feedback as time permits over the weekend.

Everything looks good except for the items I could see in photos prior to delivery... I'm waiting for confirmation about that feedback provided and what they'll do for those parts.

All of the significant adjustments on the hilt are looking really, really, good to me... I am thrilled we took a little extra time on this because I think it may resolve a lot of the geometry problems.
Edit* and by problems I mean a handful of historically weird outer geometry snags that work together, not internals.

Wow, it’s beautiful!! I agree, I’m glad for the extra time taken to make sure you got it right. Thanks for all the great updates one after the other recently.

Edit: the switch plunger set up looks really sharp! I was curious to see how those would come out. That's a pretty clever solution

I'm not sure what happened to my previous comment, but I was remarking on how great the hilt looks and how the switch plungers are a clever bit of engineering

Awaiting this final pommel sample to view in person- which addressed the key issue of the mill mark interpretation/ error in machining.

As it stands. It is ready except for the sizing of the punch marks themselves - I want them to reduce them about 50% further but they have mentioned difficulty in doing so.

That said, would you guys prefer them excluded if i cant get them smaller?

I don't mind if the punch mark is excluded. We're gonna have to damage various parts of these hilts to make them "more accurate" anyway, and I'm thinking it should be easy enough to replicate in other ways

Howdy all,

I'm looking to sell my spot, I've ordered the saber and the weathering from Wells Weathering Service. Happy to provide proof of purchase to anyone interested.

Edit: 20/05/2025 my spot has been sold

Hi guys, TXQ is catching up on a lot - we should have everything finalized next week according to them. The pommel being the last item. They’ve told me theyll take one more shot to ‘nail’ the programming for those marks. If it doesn't look right I will have them proceed without and it can be added as personal weathering.

If you arrange to sell your pre order please make sure both of you are in contact with Lewis Petch via some means so he can confirm the adjustment in his records.
(I will do my best to be checking in facilitating if there is difficulty)
I know there are a handful of members out there who prefer not to continue waiting for this, so although I can’t officially endorse spot-swapping. I do understand.

That's fantastic news. This has been a long wait, and no doubt an arduous process for you guys. Glad you've been constantly communicating with those of us who ordered this kit (this is basically my first time actually coming to theRPF thread, as I saw Lewis' posts about it on Facebook, ordered through the old 7C site & was checking progress on the Veracity Labs Facebook page).

After the final machined pieces have arrived, what is the estimate on how long it'll take for those of us who ordered the Well's Weathering service to receive our final weathered hilts? I assume it'll be based on how many people ordered the service and how busy Wells is, but a rough estimate would be really appreciated if at all possible
