Working on the Venom Symbol today.. but could use some feed back. Which side do you guys like better the anatomical right or the anatomical left.
Tried to ask the wife and she was no help " I don't see any difference" was her reply....... but normally she is very supportive :)

Right...... Left
Keep in mind this is very rough

i think left is better on the chest area and right is better around the ribs. the way it goes down the ribs mimics spawn and looks very cool. while not comic accurate it's something i'd see in a movie.

the left chest is more comic accurate and broadens the pectorals. the right side doesn't flow as well imo. so i'd go with left but i'd try to capture the right's side rib design.

It is funny that you should mention Spawn. I am a huge Todd McFarlane fan, I see his work has influenced me on a subconscious level.

So I took what Alfonso said and tried to work with it making the right more like the comic book. However, I agree with Princerinoand tried to leave the aggression on the right.

The length of the spider may be throwing me off. It's making the arms look small.
I tried making the arms bigger before but they looked a bit odd. Here are some picks from different angels do the arms still look off. if they do will shorten the spider next.

OR is it the pecks that need to be larger

Are your legs going to connect under the arm or stretch down like these?

I have been toying with the notion of having two of them connecting under the arms and two of them stretch down that is what is happening right now. I know it is not comic book accurate but i kind of liked the look. But maybe I should connect all 4 under the arms. If the suit comes out nice and people are interested I was thinking about doing a vary limited run so it may be best to stick as close to the comic as i can.

it's probably super hard to capture the massiveness of venom especially eddie brock venom since he's all body builder-ed out.

i've never done a rubber casting or sculpt of this size (though i have done human sculptures before) so i might be off base in my comment. but i think the bicep might be too bulbous. it looks great in the side view images but from the front the bicep seems too far up. unless it can be corrected by the wearer of the suit by facing his arms in (in which case completely ignore me). but my suggestion would be to sculpt it a tiny bit lower and facing the torso a bit more. the shoulder forearm and hands look great. arnold-schwarzenegger-9a.jpg here's an example of what i mean biceps tend to face toward the body and sag a little even when they're huge body suilder guys.. just my two cents man, keep up the great work.

Thanks for the constructive criticism I see what you mean regarding the bicep. I will try and adjust them accordingly. But have to be careful to give plenty of space between the body and the arms for the casting.

today has been a day...... felt like fun turned in to work :( .... but i am now going to put some more time into the symbol after reading feed back and considering my own artistic spin I am going with a combo of the right and left taking some things from both. I have decided that I will take some creative license and run two sets of the spider legs under my arms and will continue to run two down the rib cage.

Well Not done with the front yet but started to throw some clay on the back. I started this one a little shorter but i don't know which one I like better the long or the short what do you think. I know I am going to sound wishy washy but now i am second guessing the second set of legs going down it looks a bit off on the back. I may try all 4 under the arms to see if this corrects my issue.
