Vader Reveal Helmet in progress...

Hi guys, here are a few shots of my ROTJ Vader Reveal helmet in progress. I started yesterday with a kit I began collecting for about 5 yrs ago. I still have to sand some spots but after that it'll be ready for primer and paint. I've basically attached all the greeblies that are gonna be the same color gunmetal as the rest of the helmet. I have to paint the chin portion as well before assembling the interior guts and neckbrace. If my progress is as fast on the rest of it as it was on the exterior, I'll be finished with this project in a couple of weeks. :)

Thanks guys. The mask itself is a work of art. Very nicely done. It will take very little prep work to be able to paint this set of castings. :)

That's lookin awesome Dave, I can't wait to see it finished. You always seem to fly effortlessly through these sorts of things. You'll probably be posting completed pics by then end of next week.:lol

I'm jealous. I finally acquired a mask and was really looking forward to start mounting the parts on it that I too have been collecting for five years... but the mask looks like s**t inside and I don't have the know how or the workspace to fix it in.

That's my goal Chris!!!! :)

Hey Marcus

What mask did you get??? Did Steve come through with his?
I still have my Natty15d, which I´d like to replace with something more accurate before starting my build.

NICE WIP!!!

Like I said...I still have the molds to the helmet pictured above if someone known and trustworthy wants to take it on. That last fellow showed up on the board and offered then promptly disappeared. really glad I followed my gut on that one. Hopefully someone in the States as it is a plaster jacketed mold not a fiberglass jacketed mold and it weighs mucho.
SGT Fang does some really nice work but I think his stuff is all resin. I wonder if hed pick it up and do it gel coat FG?

Well even if Sarge did some in resin, they could always have the inside coated with fiberglass by buyers if additional strength is necessary right?

Dan

Well because Ive known Sarge for a long time Id even be willing just to work out a trade for the molds...hes got some pretty cool stuff :)

Thanks for the comments fellas. This reveal helmet has always been one of the OT holy grails for my collection. Honestly there are tons of parts on this thing and I'm only missing one piece that has yet to be identified. Luckily I can just pop it on whenever I do find it as nothing sits in it's way. You won't be unhappy with the helmet from Onigiri's moulds that's for sure.
