Vader bodysuit question

I am very slowly gathering peices to make a lifesize Vader display. I am not worried about it being perfect, or hyper screen accurate, I just want it to look like Vader.
My question is about the bodysuit. I have the chance to get one of the fake "pleather" ones off a Rubies supreme costume for 50 bucks. Since when completed the bodysuit doesn't show that much I am alright with using the Rubies version, but I don't know if that is a good price or not?
I know the overall costume is expensive, so that seems like a good deal, but if folks have seen this part of the costume sell for cheaper then maybe I should wait, and keep my eyes open.
Any thoughts?

Thanks.

Thanks for the feedback, Darth.
This is my first try at a costume (even one just for display) I can already tell it will be a stuggle to balance good looking vs cheap cost, but I suppose that is part of the challange (and the fun.) :D

You're welcome. Good luck with it. If you need anything else on your journey feel free to ask.

I agree with the others. $50 is a great price for that suit. Until I get a leather one some day, that is what my Vader is wearing.

It's not a bad suit for 50.00.
I actually shot mine with ultra flat paint and it turned out pretty nice.
I say go for it.

Thanks for all the feedback. It turned out I had to pass on it due to an extremely large power bill this month sucking up all my extra money, and someone else got it. But now that I know that would be a good way to go I will keep my eye out for another one in the near future.

You may have trouble getting one for that price again. I've personally never seen one sell for that little, but that's just me.

I also agree the price of 50 usd is good.
But i must be hounest and say that i belive you will try to upgrade it in short time.

All people that have done vader in the past have problably used allot more money on upgrading than if we could have got it right from the start.

My advice whould be to save up for a cheaper leather version.
There are some good people here making them.

I completely agree John.

I started with a Rubies, and don't get me wrong it is a fine suit for trooping and it looks great to the casual fan. But shortly after I got my Rubies the accuracy and quality bug bit me and slowly but surely I started to spend more and more money on higher end stuff. My ANH Vader will have run me close to $4000.00 by the time I am done.

I can defimately say that I spent more in the long run by starting with a Rubies. But of you're not hardcore into Vader and just want something others will be "wowed" by then this should be fine for you.
