Making my Vader

I want to make my own Vader. I have zero knowledge of prop building, so I am pretty sure my DV will never pass the 501st inspection. I have the Black Seris helmet, which is cool and looking to my standards. I just found out I can get it.STL files to print his chest, shoulder, and belt boxes, so my question is this: what is a good paint to use on 3d print material, and can I sand that stuff? As I said, I am super new to this process. I hope to make Darth from the Empire

you can use any paint on 3d prints. Definitely invest in Rustoleam Filler Primer. It will drastically reduce the amount of sanding you have to do. And a Dremel for getting the really rough stuff that takes forever to sand by hand.

I typically go in and Dremel first, then go in with rough sandpaper on the tips of the prints where it will get that mountain effect to smooth it out a bit, then use 2 to 3 coats of the filler primer, then use a low grit sandpaper to smooth it all out. And then just repeat the filler primer and low grit paper if/as needed.

I've found high grit sandpaper sticks to be super useful too in tight small spaces of a print that the Dremel can't reach easily.

And lastly, watch YouTube tutorials for paint techniques and how to layer the paint and other products to get the finish you want. That will be the most helpful thing in my opinion.
