Found a bargain ! Sandtrooper inside

So I was browsing facebook marketplace when I came accross a full Sandtrooper costume that has been for sale for months and months. Took a chance and asked if it was still available, well couple hours later I was on my way picking it up. Full ATA works armor in a sandtrooper configuration for just under 300$us. Couldn't believe no one picked this up.

There's some things to fix, but overall nothing major since there's no crack in the ABS, only the straps and fixation. I don't plan on wearing it since it doesn't fit me, but that will make an awsome piece displayed on a mannequin !

From what I could find, ATA works was the way to go for a great quality armor at an affordable price. Also find out they ain't in the business anymore, but didn't find any info on if it has any lineage or just well made based on reference, maybe someone has more info on this ?

*Out of subject but while we're here, there's someone local to me selling a Rubies Supreme Vader costume for 350$us. I know these aren't screen accurate... but should I ?

did you dig around 1st Imperial Stormtrooper Detachment ? that site is usually the go-to source for anything stormtrooper related and the guy behind ATA armor was a well-known source there.

The various types of armor and where to find them UPDATED 2024 might drop some pointers

Well after some digging on the 1st imperial stormtrooper forum, there's a lot of 501st approved member using ATA armor. He was well known to the community, a respected and reputable member, who sadly passed away in 2021. He was pretty much the go to for an affordable approvable armor.

He was using a cast from another maker with his approval. From what I understand he used TE armor and TE was a direct cast of a screen used armor. So it has some lineage and isn't a fan made armor based on pictures.

So yeah, a very nice find and just happy it's not some Etsy weirdo recasting things without permission.

thats exactly why i sent you over to whitearmor. that site is a core resouce around the 501st when it comes to stormtropper + related costumes stuff. for me getting a link to the "getting started" section was a expensive rabbithole.... (lost a full weekend on whitearmor.net back then and a short time after a order went out to RS propmasters)
