UPDATED! Lots of new Captain America pics! SPOILERS AHEAD !!!

I have to say that Captain America is one of my least favorite characters but this movie looks like it is shaping up to be awesome! I LOVE the old style costume! It just looks like it is from that time period! I am really looking forward to this movie!

Now if they could just pull off an appearance of the Bob Kane style Bat suit in the new Batman movie that would rock!

Captain America - Behind the Shield Featurette

Always wanted to have a comic accurate Captain America Shield, but after seeing pics of this shield at last year's Comic Con that's the only one I want.

Same here until 2006, though I was a huge Marvel fan I was never interested in the character and hence never read any of his comic titles. But Civil War changed all that and then he became one of my top Marvel favourites after Spider-Man and Wolverine. Also Ed Brubaker did a great job with the ongoing series by reviving the character and making him relevant again.

Someday I need get back to reading comics again, but after the events of Spider-Man's One More Day I totally lost interest with Marvel and comics in general; cause of their yearly crossover stories also the issues weren't getting any cheaper.

After watching the Behind-the-scenes Video, it occurred to me that someone could use the video footage to determine the correct scale of the Shield from the scene where someone opens the Shield from a crate for Comicon, their Comicon passes dangle right over the shield, so anyone who has the passes could calculate measurements from that...

My guess is about 26" in diameter as others have guessed...

Can anyone read the Writing on the Shipping box?

The measurements may be listed there...

The plastic badge holders are 3 7/8" tall and 4 1/2 " wide. The badges themselves are 4" wide and 4 1/4" tall.

Not that I have nine million of them, or anything. :)

Having used that Badge Measurement, I calculated that Captain America's Movie Shield about 26 inches in Diameter, (at least for the displayed Movie Prop Shield, according to the Behind the scenes video they used several different shields for Filming.)

The fiberglass shield I received from Marvel Marketing for services-rendered (one of the old costume ones the various Caps who made personal appearances used) in the late 90s is 28" in diameter, for what that's worth.

74cm X 74cm x 13cm roughly is 29in X 29in X 5in. It sure looks like the shield is a bit further away than 1.5in from the edge of the outside of the box. IF thats the case, then the shield would be closer to 25 or 24 inches. UNLESS the internal measurements of the box are printed on the outside, which seems unlikely. T

Thoughts?

3 different shield sizes were made... one for his back, a hero and one for when other people hold the shield (making it look larger)

I really like how the distressing is just on the surface. It's sort of how I imagine a real Cap shield being if it were a real world item.

That is until Marvel reboots FF and Reed Richards paints the shield with indestructible paint, since he obviously has nothing better to do.
