Uncharted: Drake's Fortune

Any of our German friends able you figure out what this word is (the one with the arrow)?
I've manages to figure out all the other text using a translation site but this last word alludes me.

Sanctuary and Mausoleum don't seem to work.

I think it is "Sendeturm", the german word for "radio tower". I hope this helps.

Matched up perfect.
Thank You.

That translation site doesn't have the word listed, probably why I couldn't find it through trial and error.

Finished, although I may lighten the outer boarder.
I had to make up part of the water contours on the left since I couldn't get a shot of it.
Fonts are pretty close and what I already have on hand.

This is the Kriegsmarine map that Drake finds on the U-Boot in the Amazon.

Incredible job. This is amazing. I am on a map kick right now, I love them. I am doing the Hobbit map and just made up some maps of the area I live in (terrain, birds eye view, satellite, and road).

Have you considered trying your hand at the other map, the one in post #1?

An excellent job. :thumbsup

Best,

@division 6: What size do you go to print map ? My guess is about 30x 30cm, but this is as well only due to my limitation of an available printer (up to A3). It may be as well something about 40x 40cm.... :confused

I haven't printed it yet.
It needs to be scaled with Drake's map.

Depending on the size book you choose will determine the size of the Drake map.
If you go with the 5.5 x 3.5in book the map will be somewhere in the 10x12in - 11x13in range.
Darth Sabers map on page one is about 10x12in

So using that you get about 18.5 x 19.37 or 17.5 x 18.37in
Approx 44-47cm h so you are in the general area with 40cm.

If you want a larger, higher res version just PM me your email address.
I can scale it to the size you want.

Time for some detective work folks.
I.E. figuring out the hand written text. (Drakes Notes ?)

The basic Spanish writing marking the structures is easy and already done.
They used the Black Sam's Gold font.

The title in the upper left corner is almost done accept for the last line and the date.(?1698?)
The last few letters of the last line are "grafe"
Perhaps one of out Spanish speaking friends can help with that.

Now the real problem is all the notes scribbled all over the map.
Anyone up to the challenge?

Well I figured out the missing word and discovered that Drake was in the Pacific in 1578 when he took a Spanish ship that had charts of the Pacific.

Good work man!

BTW, might want to recheck the text on your last map...The text along the edges and the upper right hand corner. I believe the text used in the game map is one of the Futura fonts.

How about the German photo Nate finds in the bunker with Drake's final note.
I replaced the Germans face with a modified photo of a real one so it wasn't so cartoonish looking.

Hey could you also please post the othe pages of the journal if you do fine 'em. I am also starting my own journal and still have to get that design on the cover.

I also have a pocket Moleskine book.

I am thinking about a UDF reference book, I though of adding sketches of places Drake Visits and the answer to some puzzles and the treasure locations.

Please do tell me what you think about the reference book idea.

PS- When im done i will post up videos on YOUTUBE

Aside form the Almanac pages Darth Saber posted at the beginning of this thread there are only 19 pages shown.

I've been able to decipher most of the pages text accept a few words here and there.
The 2 pages I can't read are the page facing the torch and the page with the El Dorado map.
The El Dorado map appears to be in the middle of the book and the second to last page since you can see part of it when Nate shows Sully that the last page is missing.

I'm currently looking into any info on Drakes actual journey in the Pacific since the journal notes mainly deal with this.
Unfortunately his journals and charts where actually confiscated by the Queen and have been lost (or so they claim)
I did pick up a copy of his Almanac (quite expensive for such a tiny book) that many of the game pages use but they are out of sequence to the real one.
Scans of the book can be found on line.

The text on the pages describe Drakes journey and things he found (firefly's and bats) Taking of Spanish treasure ships and ports, etc... they also make reference to the person that made him the maps and drew the clues.

Interesting note: the person that supposedly made the map (last missing page) was a real person but was born 200 years later.
