due to the shape and picture engraved on the dubloon, I was actually thinking about trying to find a novelty nickel and modify it but I haven't seen any in years and can't find my old stash of play money :lol

I think i have found a turkish tram token! Its red and looks plastic though. Is this what it is supposed to be like?

I've seen replica dubloons on Amazon (replicas of real ones, not the Uncharted one) and the reverse side matched whats on the Uncharted Dubloon.
On my dubloon (and when I make a better one it will be the same) it's only one-sided.. not adding the reverse slims it down a bit for the book.
On a related note, for my book (or books if you count the one for my brother and ones for my cousins) I cast single sided copies of the other coins and painted them silver.
With that red tram token, you could do the same thing and yes, there ARE plastic versions and metal versions of the tram tokens. (they look almost the same, certainly possessing the same details though slightly sharper on the plastic ones.

There is a site where you can make 3D "prints" out of plastic. Someone in one of the forums I'm on made Doctor Who props using it. Maybe it would work with the dubloons?

Ok I just got a quote. The coins will cost $20 a piece. A bit high but a nice item to have. I will see if I can lower the cost but who is interested if they cost $20?
