Unbreakable Active Comic

Hello, I was wondering if anyone out there has made the cover art of the Unbreakable Active Comic that Elijah's mom gives him in the start of the movie? I know a member a while back started working on one but never was able to finish it unfortunately. Anyone else out there ever take on this bad boy? :love

Yeah, that was me. I never took the time to finish this. I don't think I will. If I had a better source image I might try but screen caps loose a lot of detail and I am not happy with the way mine is turning out. Anyone have the real comic? I know there were a few of the original comics sold on the secondary market after filming...

Ughhh, I don't know Jedifyfe, the one you were working on looked gorgeous to me personally, and I'm sure a lot of other people would agree. There wasn't one detail I can remember that you left out.

I say go for it!!! I'd finish it myself if I had your skill :thumbsup

If I could get an HD screen cap of the comic then I might be able to do it...Anyone have this on Blu-Ray???

Oh I remember seeing this project's progress and I was extremely impressed as well. It was Derek Thompson who worked on the comic art of the film and I just e-mailed him to see if he could provide any better visual references. I'll keep you guys updated on this. I'm so happy to see that people are still into this movie like I am.

That's cool. I'd be in on this. He should have a copy of it for himself I would think. Maybe get a scan of it???

Holy #%*@, a day for good news!!!

Thanks very much for keeping us in the loop bladefans! Much appreciated!

I read on his website that he did the original sketch art for the cover and someone else, Brian O'Connell did the ink and color. Maybe Derek never got a full printed version of his work.

Somone got these two comics. I also know another copy of SentryMan was sold recently on Ebay for around $150.

Damn! That is BEAUTIFUL WORK!!! You should finish it up man! I'd be proud to have a print of that hanging on my wall!

I've tried to find someone local I know with a Blueray player but no luck so far...

I say go for it dude!

So what'd you do Jedifyfe to make it that far? Maybe you can pass the torch to me if you can tell me how you got it that far.

Was any progress on this ever made? I never got an email back from that guy who did the art unfortunately. I would really love some scans of these covers.

Me too. My cover is just not going to be as accurate as I want it to be so I am abondoning it. I KNOW that someone has the covers and maybe they would scan them like I did my Jingle All the Way "Turboman" comic a dn post it up for free...

I'd be pretty interested in giving this a shot. Just out of curiosity, though, Jedifyfe what innacuracies exactly made you give up on it? I can see I'll have some problems with a lot of the small type at the top and I have no bluray player so hi-res shots would definitely be appreciated. I can't guarantee I'm gonna get this done at all quickly but I'm more of a comic book guy than a movie prop guy so the supply problems I've been having with other projects won't be a problem on this one, which is nice. I'll try and get some progress pics up here within the next couple days/weeks.

Resolution would be a big problem unless you get a clean 1:1 scan. I hate seeing pixeled up imagess blown up.

Brian O'Connell is now a director at ILM / Lucasfilm. I found a few credits that mention him but he doesn't seem to have his own page or contact information. I would like to send him an e-mail to see if he appreciates fans more than Derek Thompson. I guess I could try that guy again too to see if he responds this time. Do you guys have any suggestions about how to find O'Connell's email or what type of things I should include in said email?
