***PROJECT COMPLETED***

Objective:

Create a highly detailed and accurate 3D printable file for The Comic Book Rocketpack

Requirements I set:
  • MUST BE ACCURATE
  • Must take into account original dimensions, down to the millimeter accuracy.
  • Must be 3D printable at home, hence, must be split into multiple parts.
  • Parts must join together seamlessly.
  • Lip and Groove joints wherever possible.
  • Alignment notches wherever possible ensure proper positioning on assembly.
  • Assembly features to attach real hardware for assembly (holes, screws, etc.)
Status November 16, 2023:
V1.00 Released.

Your files are incredible. Are you still moving forward with this project? (Fingers crossed!!)
Yes it's on pause for a short while as I'm juggling multiple projects at the time. It will get completed- this is nowhere near as complicated as the movie version. :)
 
What about the comic inspired pre-production rocket?

Back to the project... If anyone has good reference material for the Comic Book Jetpack please post pics here and I will use them to make the model as accurate as possible.
 
I need some feedback. The main body is 10 inches diameter.

Does it need to be split or can most people print this?

I had mathed out the body as an 8 inch diameter.

At the time it worked out GREAT, because I used a bowl for the top and a stove element grease-catcher for the nozzle.

I have a custom built one from last Halloween at 8inches. It was way too small for my liking. Very awkward looking at that size. I'm thinking 10 will do it. People can scale to their liking though.
