Thanks alot for the comments on the suit! Ive pretty much got the suit where I want it.
As for the helmet I think I was just a little misinformed. I knew the liner was a later version. After P51's comment I did a little more research and came up with the same information you just provided! I tried to male this as period as possible. I was a little disappointed about the helmet but like you said, the final costume has turned out nice. Im just glad there are guys like you and P51 that posess a little more info than me!

Just a bit of further correction on P51's helmet comments: rear seam helmets were very much WWII-era in terms of manufacturing (production started in late '44), but few, if any, made it into the PTO or ETO before the end of the war due to the abundance of front seam steel and magnesium-rimmed helmets.
There are a few other differences between WWII/Korea and Vietnam-era or after, (mainly in liner materials and a slightly different shape) but ALL versions are considered to be an M1, so I wouldn't sweat it. Your end result is amazing.![]()
